Jackpoint is a really cool product, but no doubt it takes longer unless you happen to have a jack low enough that you can fit the thick plate on your jack and still get it under the car. Otherwise, you have to first elevate the rear of the car. I do what Serge944 does and it is very quick and easy. Also the Esco are not as big or heavy, easier to move around and store.
Why not use the rear outer jack point instead of the inner? Jack from the back out, place the front and jackpoint on the rear, done.
Are you saying jack on the cross member? Yes you can do that, but it is harder to guide the jack to that spot, and you need a longer jack. None of this really matters if you are jacking the car a few times per year. But if you do it a lot you will start to want a fast, efficient, easy process.

That's what I mean though, only two, total, uses of the jack and ur done. Raise rear, with jackpoint, install front jack stand, install jackpoint stand and lower... Repeat on the other side.
