I have worse addiction
suggest R8 V10 plus , one of few cars that I regretted selling and thinking about buying another one to replace my .2 RS
not sure why it does not get much love here on this forum , but great car overall

I was out driving the 675 today and honestly it’s the best car I’ve driven.

Thanks for the replies and reaffirms the sweet spot the GT3 manual sits in.

I've been contemplating a BMW M3 CSL which have fallen in price here in the UK recently as an alternative (as well as keeping the GT3)...

I agree with the "contrast" approach mentioned in post #7 by robmypro.

But I think the problem here is the "18 months". That's waaaay too short to get to know a car in full. Gotta stretch that out & measured over years, not months.

spent my 20's in old 914's & 912's. Spent my 30's in 911 SC's. And once into my 40's got into a 964 Turbo, which has carried my wife & I for the last 15 yrs (enjoyment level HIGH). Last year we picked up a 997.2 GT3 (sticking with the manual theme for driver engagement), and KEPT the 964 Turbo.

It's going to be hard for Agate (OP) to pickup something else, if the passion for that car will only last 18 months or less. so I agree with GT3 and robmypro.

Keeping the manual 991.2 GT3 is the right move btw. I'd like to add that car to my stable,... in probably 7-9 yrs from now!!

My bottom line suggestion: Disband your requirement that your next addition be less than 4 years old. There is a LOT of thrill and excitement in the 997 series GT3's (with a lot less nannies to save your butt), and the Mezger will not disappoint.

sooo true,... and yet that's exactly why I love my combo of 964Turbo and 997 GT3!!
