Another thread here on this forum, documenting data on GT3s and Tourings in particular, inspired me to dig up and compile similar data on 991 Speedsters. Attached is what I was able to find. The Speedster total count (588 US, and 130 Canada) seems accurate. But, I'm not 100% certain if the color counts are accurate. Someone here in the US apparently got his/her MSRP up to a whopping $363,460! Wow.
The challenge with the Speedster was not PTS, it was getting the interior in leather to sample (not black or cognac).

Thanks for sharing. Well, it looks like some of my data may be off. 😮 Yep, leather to sample is an easy way to get that MSRP up! Was there at least one Speedster with a cognac interior (without the Heritage Pack)?
Quite a few actually, a few dozen cars had cognac interior that weren’t heritage cars. A lot of Speedster owners wanted something other than black, so Porsche allowed Cognac interiors to be had if you asked nicely.
About two dozen cars had interior that weren’t true leather to sample, but they could choose from the existing 991 leather selection (eg. Bordeaux red or graphite blue).

Porsche jacked their pricing on the Speedster by about 100k compared to the R on msrp. Porsche build way more Speedster than the R, so it’s definitely not economy of scale working here. 🤦🏻♂️
I did a similar custom special project build on my R and it was literally about 100k cheaper than my Speedster at 287k.

yea that sucks! Can’t blame them though, if people are willing to gladly hand over ADM. They probably figured we should take some of that as well.

Notwithstanding the price increase by Porsche, many dealers were nonetheless able to ask for and get an ADM. In NorCal, the typical ADM was $50k or so for a “regular” Speedster, and $100K for a PTS or Heritage version.
