Default Rock Damage on New RS

Well... it happened. Cruising on highway and car in front of me shot up a bunch of rocks and got me. I wasn't even following too close. Maybe 5 car lengths. Craters in windshield, both headlights, front bumper, front lip, one of the washer nozzles in front of the headlights, one of the side trim pieces under the fog light, and a small spot on the rear wing but I think just in the PPF. I don't know what was on the road. Must have been a bunch of rocks or gravel or something. Have had car for only a few weeks

Headlights are an easy fix. Just pop 'em out and replace. Windshield is fairly easy I suppose but it sucks that a fixed part of the car needs to be replaced. Trim pieces and front lip are simple bolt-on parts. But the bumper has me worried. Hopefully once the PPF comes off there won't be any major paint damage.

Not a happy day.

You'll be surprised how easy it is to replace the windshield. Got a crack in mine from a rock on the highway. Couldn't even tell they touched the car. Replacement window was a perfect fit.

OMG, man, count your blessings. Obviously rock damage was not on your mind when that happened...
It's terrible when people don't know their driving limits.

Consider yourself liberated. Now the car doesn't own you.

Drive it, enjoy it.

That was a total ******** move, should be black flagged and kicked off the track. He could have killed someone.

Yeah, happens too often, unfortunately.

Everything that was covered with PPF was fine, some knicks in the PPF, but that is what it's there for. I cover my headlights as well (never had an issue with PPF on headlights and have removed with no problem). I did get 2 small paint chips on the back of the car that wasn't covered with PPF. The car isn't a museum piece, but I never expected it to stay that way. It's already had a metal rod skewer the front bumper when I was in Germany. LOL.

Yeah, that guy's crew was a thorn in everyone's side that weekend.

Yeah mine isn't a museum piece either. But it's less than a month old
The two big things are windshield and headlights. Both of those are easily replaceable I guess. Just hope bumper is ok under the PPF and won't require repaint.

101 southbound, somewhere between San Bruno Ave. and Millbrae Ave. exits. Maybe right around the SFO airport interchange.
After it happened, I got off the Millbrae Ave. exit.

Sorry to hear that. But unfortunately things like this will happen if you’re driving them. First one hurts, after that you don’t care so much. I only have my front end and mirrors film covered so I have some chips on the wing and on some areas in the rear as well as a rock chip in the windshield that was fixed not replaced from a Kia kicking a large stone. I just chalk it up to road scars from enjoying the car.
