Cue all the aftermarket side exhaust kits for 987, 981, and 718's.....lol

Srsly though, seems like a win-win. Still sounds better than anything else in the GTLM paddock IMO......car should be a rocket.

My Touring with cheap Soul side bypass and FVD great 200 cells cats sounds glorious
Why RSR sounds so trash?

Exhaust exits on the side so:

(1) Pipes don’t exit together at the center exit rear; the current RSR exhaust doesn’t overlap but the pipes meet in the center
(2) The pipes themselves are very short

Other GTE cars with similar exhaust arrangements are the Ford GT and new Aston Martin vantage (which both sound like ****)

With the same JCR and the Akrapovic headers, it sounds angrier that the video above, same tone, just angrier (louder) sound.

The new RSR with the side exhaust sounds just plainly horrible, that's the worse sound of a Porsche 911 race car I have heard. Makes a 1992 Viper sound like glory. Too bad.

Did they elaborate further? Pipe length, diameter, etc. all play a factor, just wondering what Porsche’s rationale was/is.

+1. Would you rather Porsche fields a winning car or one that just sounds good?

Look at at the bright side. Your street version RS won’t be as fast but it will sound better.
