When the "Touring" package was just a rumour, there were some photos posted on this forum of a GT3 sans wing on german plates, either a development car or a one off. It had no badge, and that simplicity really struck a cord. So I tried to replicate it.

Very clean look. I personally don’t mind a badge but the factory GT3T badge looks like an afterthought. Especially compared to the beautiful 911R badge. Had they used that design with just a free floating “touring” in a script it would have looked amazing compared to the fugly plaque that’s there now.

Below is the photo of the original parts (which I kept, easily reversible). As you can see the original mesh has a profile to it. The badge itself was on a double sided sticky tape. You remove the cassette (the black plastic trim you see around the mesh), and the mesh is sandwiched inside. We were able to carefully prize open the clips on one side of the cassette and fish out the mesh.
We've bought new mesh, it's not a perfect match but close enough. Powder coated it satin black to match other meshes around the exterior of the car. New mesh doesn't really have the profile that the original did, unfortunately.
The two wholes for the pins in the badge are covered with a cutout of black plastic, also stuck down with double sided tape. Looks close enough to original, I feel, and a bit more "hot rod"!

Would you be intrested in selling the original grill and badge?
Thanks

Fitting 70th anniversary badge
Hi everyone, new to this forum although have lurked here over time! I purchased one of these badges for our touring. From reading this particular thread it’s still not clear how to connect the nut to the bolt when trying to place this without covering any of the vents due to the plastic beneath the mesh. If anyone could help I’d really appreciate it. Regards.Dan
