Over the past several months, I've gotten a "Fault, differential lock" code in my 991.1 GT3 a few times. Each time, my shop was able to clear the code and the car behaved normally, but we don't know what's causing the code and what the implications are. Have any of you gotten this code? Any ideas about what's causing it and how to fix it? I'm getting the transmission fluid and filter changed, but I don't know if that will make any difference.
139 views, but no responses, makes me think that this is a relatively rare problem? The fault code started after the engine replacement, and we're wondering if it's related to that.
We changed the transmission fluid and filter today. It should be straw colored, but it was black. But changing the fluid and filter didn't make the code go away, it's still intermittently coming on.
My shop is wondering if there's a problem with the PDK 'plug connections', resulting from when the new engine was installed (this code never came up prior to replacing the engine).
the shop should not just clear the code and hope it doesn't happen again. Dont they have the means to look up the code and run a prescribed troubleshooting guide on that code??
I would check/reset and electrical connection that may have been touched during the engine replacement. Might want to use some cleaner on the contacts. Otherwise Porsche repair procedure on the PDK is to just replace the unit.
I have a gt3rs.2
the light showed up after a track event and then after switching the car off and then on, it disappeared. Took it to dealer and this showed as a passive fault but then when lifting the car we noticed there is an oil leak beneath and between the rear tyres. They will start checking tomorrow and i will let you know the outcome👍

Any update on this? I got the same code after driving hard on the back roads but I have 991.1 C4S. I never had this code before even after hard track driving many times ..
Hello, sorry to hear about yours. It turned to be that the valve/breather of the gear is not working properly. It needs to be changed. This valve usually opens when there is a high steam in gear to release the steam or vapour but if it does not work properly then it will open not for steam but also for oil, then it will start leaking some oil drops underneath the gear. All the best
