Definitely doing at least valved side muffler delete for weight loss, and better heat dissipation on track. Sound is not a motivation.

Considering doing the side delete as part of Dundon package with both headers and air intake mods for optimal power but worried about Porsche warranty coverage for engine if something big happens down the road as I plan to keep this .2 GT3 for a decade.

So if I decide not to risk all that, will stick with basic valved side muffler delete.

As of 2019, in The People's Republic of California, there is a stricter law regarding aftermarket exhausts. Something to keep in mind if you live out here and are considering an exhaust that might be louder than stock: https://www.thedrive.com/news/25799/...ine-you-for-it

Stock. Love the people rationalizing the "performance gains." Just admit you did it for the sound

I've added the Sharkwerks Center and Soul Performance Side Valved bypass.

My various neighbor's barking dogs are much more of a nuisance than the occasional loud exhaust.

if this was my daily driver then no i'd most likely keep it stock or barely modify the exhaust. However since it's my sunday driving race car, full JCR inconel headers and titanium race pipe here we go

Is it one of those “must have” things (like clear side markers)? Or not?

Anyone did an exhaust and regretted it?

For those that have stuck with stock, does the sound get better with age (like many exhausts do)? I am currently at 400 miles.

Appreciate your thoughts!
Chris, I feel the same way, that the car should not need any changes and I do not care for anything aftermarket. However, IMO, 3 mufflers is excessive and bone stock my GT4 sounded more aggressive than my GT3, which I cannot have, LOL. I decided to go with the BBI bypass and I'm elated with it. I wasn't necessarily looking for a horsepower increase or weight reduction, just wanted to uncork the 4.0 liter beast and keep my warranty intact.

PSE, it sounds good enough.

As far as removing the emissions equipment for extra sound, not for me, there's enough pollution as it is I don't want to add to it. Got 4 years of warranty to go.

Further, removing back pressure has been found to decrease mid-range performance, that's where most of us drive nearly all the time.

I plan to do the center exhaust delete with the MRBP blacked out center pipes... Saw some reviews on it here and people were saying it was great for the money.
I'm actually going to do a video documenting trying to do it myself. I figure I need to learn how to remove the rear bumper sooner or later so why not do it for the center delete exhaust.
Almost everyone I see here says that is the best simple set up.

Anyone noticed a difference in sound/power between the 4.0 and 3.8?

Has anyone actually gotten a center bypass, and regretted it? Seems people are almost universally happy with the change.

Yea I was wondering same thing. Not too many people say its overly loud but some people think its not loud enough and then remove the side mufflers then regret that later.

I’ve had my 991.2 fitted with Akrapovic slip ons only. Reasonable cost at around $3000 as it has improved sound while retaining usage of the sport exhaust button inside the car. 😊
