Default GT3T trim opinions

All,

Looking at a red touring with aluminum wheels (which I like) and aluminum door trim (which I am on the fence about).

What are your thoughts on alum vs black door trim and how hard is it to swap?

Door trim is very hard as it is not available separate from Porsche and it is rivited (on a leather car) on. The dash and console trim is available reasonably from techequipment. Brushed aluminium was on sale recently at suncoast. If you spec a car with leather and the free leather door/dash/console (so it matches the rest of the door) or with the base interior, you can swap the dash trim easily for $500-1500 (inclusive of the shift **** at $1500 for wood or CF) and another 300-500 for the console.

I really like my leather trim, but wood is nice too. I think the brushed aluminium and anthracite aluminium divide up the interior too much, but that is just preference as they are all nice.

edit: just realized you meant the outside trim. Chrome for the win, although most people do black. Swap is supposedly $3k and hard, but I have never done it.

May stick with the chrome, just feel ambivalent about it..

Inside or outside the car?

The difference between an 032 Touring and 039 are the exterior trim, but there are also trim inside on the door panel

IMHO, the Touring 039 holds up better visually as it is more consistent with other trim above beltline on rear and front.
Again, that is my eye, you may prefer another

I much prefer the black trim but it's simply an issue of personal preference.

if it really bothers you, you can have the trim wrapped.

If you look closely, the original oem aluminum window trim never aligned properly from factory in the rear of a lot of 2018 cars (not sure about 2019). I took mine in to have it replaced at the dealer under warranty. I had the option of having them replace it with the black one if I wanted to at no cost to me (ask a service guy you know well), but I stuck with aluminum. Don’t count on it, but you might be able to get it that way. Just a thought...
