No, 3-4000 miles a year lol. For example, my 2012 Mazdaspeed3 was my daily driver for quite some time. Bought brand new in 2012 with 7 miles and sold it December 2018 with just over 32000 miles. That is about 5300-5500 miles a year.

I just took a job where I now work from home, so I rarely drive anywhere now, hence the reason in wanting a fun car so I can always have fun when I get the chance to drive. It'll also get me outside more on weekend mornings to do a nice drive. I got my RS7 with 32,876 and it now has 34,198. That's 1,300 miles in 3 months which 375 miles are from me driving it home.

Who cares? You can't determine a car's future value, if you could you'd be in big demand. Cars are meant to be enjoyed, gt3 are dropping in value. Buy it, use it. I'll never understand those who speculate on future values while they're scared to use their car. I drive the **** out of my cars. Life is short, put tons of miles on them, go everywhere. Who wants to pay big money for a car to only use sporadically cause they don't wanna lose too much money. Cars are not an investment. I have owned almost 40 and don't ever buy thinking of the future. I buy them to enjoy them. GL with the search.

Me too. I DD my current GT3 over 50 miles/day, as I have all my other Porsches and Ferraris. In fact, I put over 70,000 miles on a Testarossa back in the 90s.

If it’s a car, there’s a 95%+ chance it will only go down in value, at least in the short term. I drive mine every day, detail it at least twice a week and get on the track every chance I can. Will do 12-15k miles this year. It’ll be worth what someone is willing to give when I order the next one. Have too many other worries to let this keep me up at night...

To answer your clarification - I definitely don’t think you’ll see a 50%+ hit in 2 years as you stated on the McLaren - even if you drive the wheels off of it.

I fill up the extended ranged fuel tank once a week or so and am at 26k miles. Received her with 9k miles in November '17. My guess is that when it comes time to trade this GT3 in for the 992 GT3 or GT3RS, I'll be fairly close to 90~100k miles. I've shaved off the fenders and have cup flares with a front bumper incoming. So.. yeah, not much value in her literally, but the amount of smiles and feelings I get from driving her every day is worth more than anything else.

OP: given the fact that the 991.1 GT3's 9A1 engine isn't a "race derived engine", has known finger follower issues, and is PDK only - don't expect it to retain much value. My guess is that in about 3 years, a 991.1 GT3 with 30k miles will only lose a few thousand in value vs one with 15k miles. I fully expect my GT3 to be featured on some YouTube'rs channel one day with the title "BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST GT3 IN THE WORLD!" and I'm pretty sure I'll have a laugh with that.

Because for a relatively short period of time (a few years), GT cars were the exception to that rule. People who had allocations would buy for MSRP or small markup, drive a few thousand miles and then sell for a profit. It seems like the days of making profit on a used car are over, but this will continue in some regard as long as people are willing to pay ADM to get the car they want.

Gee, I've put 19,000 miles on my 2018 GT3T since I got it the end of April, last year. So, I'm a little ahead of 20k/year. The SPM remain high

BUT, from the pictures I've seen of the 992 interior, I'm going to need to keep this car way more than 5 years. Sooner or later (probably next winter), I'll add a Macan to the fleet to get the GT3T under 10k miles/year...

The range of "DD" can vary. I work from home, so DD for me = running errands and fun driving.

Yes, a GTS is a better DD than a GT3. However a Camry is a better DD than a GTS. So why not drive a Camry? I had a 991.1 GTS, and while a great car, it wasnt enough of an "event" in the few instances I did get to drive.

HH - I'm like you. I work from home. When I DO get to drive, I want it to be fun and a bit of drama. So I picked up an R8 added exhaust. I go figure out reasons to drive. So 99% of my drive time is pleasure / fun. And I keep the miles around 4k per year. I do have another car so I'm cheating a little here, the R8 is not a true DD. But I do drive it 5 to 7 days per week.

I say go for the GT3. Make every drive fun. Worse case, sell it in a year or so then get something else.

In regards to depreciation, take a look at the depreciation curve of the previous 2 generations. It should provide a future estimate of what the car will be worth. Most cars seem to following their predecessors. If I bought a 14 GT3 for $125k, I would expect $10k annual depreciation for a couple years, then should slow down the cheaper the car gets.

I can’t stop driving my GT3... the more I drive it the more I smile. It’s my weekend car and it actually makes me want to go out and explore the backroads ... It’s also a social event and I’m meeting really great people just by being out there... fun times! You only live once.
