Pista times don’t surprise me although always suspect the F boys cooked the books with the test car.
Evo got much better times with the same RS. Better than the LTs times. Obviously it’s the driver and worn tires that exlplain the poor Autocar times.
3RS is less expensive than both, less power and torque than both but yet still considered worthy to be tested against both (one with 710 hp and 568 lbs/tq costing a cool $700k) and capable turning better times than the Mac. Pretty damn impressive and a win for the RS in my view.

Definitely sounded like he lost precious time here and there because of early shifts. Ironically, he states that the 3RS amazingly revs to 9k. Either way, the 3RS is not in the same league as the other two, it still puts out impressive numbers
Either way, that Pista is fierce. For track purposes it's tough to compete, but I'm in an odd predicament where I'm debating on pulling the trigger on a supercar but I'm torn between the Pista, Aventador S, and an F12. Getting a Pista might be tough, but I keep telling myself the NA V12's are worth it

Pista is a step on. Agreed. Should be for $700k with 700hp. As to track reliability and toughness not sure you are still on par with the Porshe even at $700k.
Mac? Nope. I think the RS out performs it despite its power disadvantage in not only lap times but value, quality and resale and it’s a little NA flat 6 to boot.

I have done a few vbox tests with my 2019 GT3 RS, everything stock and just JcR race pipes. I use the same service empty road as I have tested my other cars.
my 2016 GT3 RS with headers and side delete mufflers, 19” wheels, track tires, lithium battery has done multiple 7.2-7.3 0-100mph. 0-60mph in 3.1 average.
My 2019 is running heavier than my old 2016, but not for long as wheels and battery will be replaced soon. 0-60mph 2.86 secs, 0-100 6.89 secs, on the horrid (I don’t like them) mpsc2 stock tires. I will test again when wheels and battery go in, but it already feels stronger than when I tested last month due to higher mileage now.
That video shows that the RS was under driven, short shifting with no need, not going full gas on Church when the car can easily do it.
The 600LT time is legit, the 488 is a press car (wait until customer cars hit the racetracks), and the RS can drop 2 secs from that lap easily. The Cup2-R has 3 compounds, a very sticky outside compound that wears out quickly then down to the semi-sticky mpsc2 compound, the inner half is treaded and uses a harder compound for longevity and big grooves for wet handling.
Tires are so important, there is a track test around where the 991.2 GT3RS beats the lap of the GT2 RS by 1 sec, GT2 on mpsc2 and GT3 on the R version.
In real life the 488 will go limp or return on a flatbed, followed by the 600LT with some gizmos on the electronics, and the GT3 RS will just run hundreds of laps just asking for more brake pads and tires.
GT3 RS wins, runs 2:12 at Sebring, try that with a Pista, 600LT, Performante, they will break at Sebring before posting a 2:12 lap.

Run new sticky tires and the RS can hang with these other 2 cars.

Porsche please resist the temptation to put a turbo on the 3 RS. The NA flat 6 puts out fantastic power, sounds great, and is consistently reliable lap after lap... Feedback is phenomenal, and resale is also great (for those who care about that). Lap times against these cars may be a bit slower, (still pretty damn close considering the difference in power, tire condition, and price), but I don't care. I'll take the RS.

I think people are mainly annoyed that this video seems more like a Ferrari advert.

We don’t have to surmise about the RS driver sandbagging it and critize his driving in order to discredit the effort. Who cares?
We have the empherical proof.
