This is a very interesting thread. Can not wait to find what the culprit is.

OP, has your car sat for a while? Hoping no mice damage to a harness.

Doesn't seem so. His third post indicates it was a new delivery. At least from how I read it.

Mouse damage would not cause that fault anyway.

Unlikely as it seems.

Yet your “Race car” has a vanity mirror as standard equipment. Apropos in this case it seems.

OK guys here's the resolution of the gonging issue. First off, my car is brand new so this was a gremlin delivered from the factory. PCNA suggested a fix after being contacted by the dealer's shop foreman, and it seems that PCNA has dealt with this gonging sound before. They suggested electronic resets for the instrument cluster and the PASM and once the shop foreman implemented them...Voila the gonging is gone. The car runs great and all systems are functioning beautifully. I am wondering if the cars performance was also being effected by the settings. Not that I noticed any poor performance prior to the reset of the instrument cluster and the PASM, but the car feels just perfect now with crisp shifts and sweet handling.

I had the same issue on my GT2RS. No rhyme or reason, just gonging at 70+ and random times. Took it to dealer, reset, software update. Gone.
