Same GT3T Track Mode Issue
I too am quite interested in the outcomes any of you find out. To date, I have heard the same Stroy from my dealer. I am going to ask the Service Manager who is a friend of mine to see what he can find out but I am thinking this is a new Porsche policy. Seems wrong. And yes, I have tracked my GT3T a few weekends now and it is decimating many other cars so no doubt in my mind it is quite track capable especially for DEs. Getting rid of lots of yellow triangles while driving a DE would be nice.

I’m curious to see if a shop foreman can configure the TFT submenus to regain “lost-through-update” functions. This Race Track mode for TPMS is certainly one of the submenus that has disappeared from the gauge cluster, with the other being the Gear Shift Assist display. The 992 Track Mode has been getting attention for featuring ascending yellow to flashing blue crescendo of shift lights around the rev counter. Nevertheless, the 911R and the manual 991 GT3s originally had a Gear Shift Assist display that would show a circular indicator with the current gear in the center of the roundel. Past 6000 RPMs, the tiles surrounding the circle would—in a clockwise pattern from the left—begin to light up from grey to yellow to red (at 8800). This was nice to see in the peripheral view as shift lighting. Now, only the non-GT manual 991s and 981s / 982s have this menu. I wonder if this feature was removed in a software update so that the 992 GT3 Track Mode shift lights would be praised more as more groundbreaking in a thoroughbred GT department car?

If you want to jump onto the <$100 ThinkDiag bandwagon, these missing features can easily be re-enabled without going to the dealer.
