Default Massive plume of water vapor after drive off

I was hoping my first new 991.2 GT3 T post would be pictures and cotton candy but I’m more interested in this topic for now.
Immediately after delivery from the dealership, I drove my new chariot about 1 mile, pulled over to get better acquainted with the PCM as I wanted to make a phone call and this system is all new to me.
Anyway the car was probably idling for 4-5 minutes while I was doing all this.
I started to notice what looked like a little smoke coming from the front of the car. In a front engine car, I’d think the engine might be over heating.
So, I drive off 10-20 mph, and I (the car) was immediately over taken by a massive plume of smoke spewing from the front. I think it was coming from the GT3 smile fronk vent. This killed all visibility.
Luckily I knew the road ahead was 100% empty and clear and slowly rolled forward to pull over again. But then I realized the smoke was water vapor and it started to rapidly dissipate and then disappear. Since I could again see out of 50% of windshield, I continued to drive thinking that somehow my 4-5 minute idling session caused a problem that would be aided by getting some air through the front of the car.
It must have been very clean water /steam as it left no residue on the windshield.
Its been 2 days and the car has not done this again but I haven’t done a 4-5 minute idle either. All temps remain in normal range.

Is this a ‘back to the dealer’ issue?
Anyone have this happen to them?
Any ideas what this could be?

Thank you.

Likely normal. Sometimes water gets in there and if you stop it vaporizes

normal , often occurs after washing with hose/wash water not drained away from front radiator my guess and vaporizes from external surface heat contact on radiator .
congrats on your new ride

+1 - the dealer probably washed the car for you and was water around the radiators in front when you drove off...

Thank you.
It was washed by the dealer just before I picked it up. Must have been some standing water that got really hot.
in all my research about this car and even watching Obsessed Garage wash his GT3RS I’ve never heard of this issue.
I guess you really have to blow out the front air intakes after each wash.

I remember the first time I washed my '15 GT3 and drove off.....I had to stop because I couldn't see from all the steam coming from the front.....spooked the hell out of me but learned it was normal....

Yep. Happens if you don't clear all the water out from the front grill area. I discovered it happens more if you put the A/C on right after a wash. First time it happened to me I was like WTF is my car about to explode lol.

Yep. Here's what happened to me first time. I hand wash the car, hand dry it, wax it, detail it. Then I drive it. Steam and water droplets all over the darn hood!! #**##**!! Of course it left water marks!!

Why isn't there a mod for this? Cars are typically designed to handle crazy torrential downpours. I wonder why there aren't water drainage channels or adequate drainage channels under the GT3 smile vent. Maybe something a 3/4" metal-carbide bit and a drill could fix, saving some weight as well.

Happened to me in the Swiss alps while it was dumping snow, then entered one of the tunnels where it got much warmer... steam everywhere from the front end smothering the windshield. Made for a thrilling experience lol, first and last time I've seen that happen to my car

It's the sauna cxx option. Highly sought after.
