I recently saw a prototype made out of carbon fiber for the .2 touring. The shop that is testing it, is the same shop that partnered with Forgeline to create the FU3C wheels. When I find out more, I will update.

Definitely keep us posted. I added the sport design rear spoiler from the .2 Carrera's to my Touring. I quite like it but would prefer a real deal duck tail if one becomes available.

Just messing around to see how the RS would look with a slight extension of the existing tail. With a 4" extension, you can barely notice it's there from the rear view mirror so it doesn't block the view at all. Once the clay is dry, I'll sand and paint it black to see how it looks.
And yes if someone makes a ducktail for the Touring, I'd be all in.

I was just thinking....if that shop makes headway on the duck tail design, I bet we could get a group buy setup to help with their R&D and initial production run.

I'd be in for a group buy.

Very cool!

I was talking with him last night about it, and he has 2 designs. One that just replaces our retractable wing, which is what you may have seen. The second is a more 997 Sport Classic like ducktail lid that combines the rear engine cover and wing with third brake light, and is still in the works. I haven’t seen those pictures yet. Personally, this would be the direction that I would go in vs just replacing the wing portion only.

Is this something that would work straight off on a 991.2 GT3?

Bruce, looks cool. Have you seen the RS wing extenders that replace the end plates?

I would imagine so, as there is less involved.

Visualize a version of this for the 991.2.

Yes but @$2K, I'll make my own. Plus I'd like the ducktail to be at least 3" taller. Letting the side extensions rise up to meet the higher center section would be best for both aesthetics and down force, but just a lot more difficult for me to make or find someone to make at reasonable costs. I'm most interested in a solution for the Touring though as a fixed DT in CF would not only make the car look more classic, but can also shave off ten plus pounds up high and in the very rear of the car I bet.
