Right well like I explained- this was literally a total of 6-7 straight laps per car. Then wait 45 mins and plop into different car. That's it. No second session, no tire pressure adjustment.
I can easily go faster just by pushing harder into T1 but wanted to survive the day in all the cars to see how big of a difference between the 2018 Gt3 and the 2019 RS exists in reality vs market fluff.
I'm here to explain that there is a negligible difference between the two cars- I drove them on the same day. Granted it was the first time I'd driven either of them but I've been tracking 997's and 991's a ton and have been tracking my manual GTS all year at Laguna Seca.
Did I get the most from them? No.
Did track temps and grip swing? Yes.
Did Rich/Neo putting 100 OCT help his car? No idea.
If you have driven Sonoma before/ it's a lot like COTA where the track is totally different at different times of day. The track itself slows down a lot. Buttonwillow is similar - very greasy in some corners.
Sonoma as a 'control' track is very odd- car could be totaled if I make a mistake. My best time at a previous visit was in my LT spider when I did a 1:43.xx (I ended up going off at the apex of Turn 2 trying to carry too much speed and ripped the plastic air dam and brake duct guides off the car)- not sure what I ran in my 997RS on Hoosiers previously.
We will get the Ford GT up for a lap very soon also. Attachment 1294921

Sorry for the slow mo side by side- just to show that on the lap I spun off it was the same as previous. Walls are close, room for error is low. Ballsy choice for a test track, LOL! Looking forward to following along!

Does porsche vary the amount of rear steer that gets delivered to various models? I’m no expert but it sure seems to me that there is more in the GTS, then a little less in the GT3, and then even a little less in the RS. Or is the feel minimized due to the amount of down force that each vehicle delivers, ie little wing, medium wing, large wing coupled with the larger rear wheel.
i certainly believe I feel more wiggle in the rear of the GTS vs the RS

Great thread for the ages!
Driving around .2 GT3’s at Sebring, I’d say they are very even to .1RS.
Will be testing KW’s against .2RS as we mess with spring rates on both at Sebring.
We could emulate something similar at Sebring OEM VS OEM.
Only because the damper and spring rates are the big differentiaters and new seems too stiff at the moment.
If i have to opportunity to send my .1RS to CA next Feb you can have to as a modified bench mark of a .1RS.
There have been so many value discussions that I can see interest in seeing what a .1RS will do on mild mods.

Trakcar why don't you just run tractive and be done with it? MR KW are great but even 'softer' nurburgring spec are as hard as oem in harder setting... Plus the ammount of time that you will spend on trial and error will just be ridiculous. Learn to tune the dsc module better and you can trial and error between sessions or even laps in seconds, even 2 damping setups per trial.

PDK doesn't make a tangible difference. Driver and conditions will overtake any PDK advantages there are (almost none).

You say that just like every other RLer but I would love to see CJ incorporate the PDK for a real world answer instead of all the conjecture on here.

Yes if ANY of us could drive like him it sure is. The whole point of CJ doing this is what can a mere mortal do consistently. Not that CJ isn’t way better than most of us as well but it is closer to reality at least than Randy.
Maybe I should keep my .2 GT3 MT (have it on sale now).. Another thread making me doubt my decision.
