Track Video Overlay
I got a GoPro this year to use in car on track. To use as a learning tool and for entertainment.
What's a good setup to get track/car data overlays?

I use AiM SoloDL to get the vehicle data, a GoPro to capture video (though I hate the thing), and then make video overlays with RaceRender. Here's an example (I created the custom gauge overlay in RaceRender):

How long would you say it takes you to complete a data overlay on a video?

You can use the built in GPS in the phone even though external GPS is better.
OBD is optional. I use Go Point BT1: http://gopointtech.com/product/bt1-for-apple/
Integration with Go Pro is not too complicated. You need to import the video from the Go Pro to your phone for HLT to render video.
I seems to have problems with my setup when using the Go Pro: Once in a while HLT crashes when starting a new lap.

I've been messing around with a 4k Garmin VIRB. I use it for track vids and a variety of other stuff. Allows connection with ODBII dongles to spit out some data. Gauges and graphics can be overlaid in post processing. Same mounts as most GoPro gear. Gets a little buggy sometimes but usually looks great. Wired mic to exhaust.
Then sometimes I'll get crazy and overlay Harry's on a phone and a rear facing GoPro.

Garmin Virb Ultra 30.
Sooo easy and everything you need built in. Finish your session and plug it into your laptop and view video with speed, Gs, track map and position, whatever.
