of course they aren’t because this never went to trial because of all the hush money so they and everyone else involved that knew damn good well what was going on let him take 100% of the blame.

None of the articles I read said anything about restitution but this article seems to say that Champion made the customers whole…

“ According to Diaz, the dealership refunded customers all the money stolen by its employee, but it has yet to see a penny from Sookralli. “

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/cr...65a-story.html

Article states he was sentenced by a federal judge so I’m assuming he’s going to a federal prison and would have to serve at least 80% of the 78 month sentence ~ 62 months.

I searched for his name on the federal inmate locator and I assume he’s not in their custody yet. I’m going to periodically search the site just to see where he winds up - I’m hoping he gets sent to the worst federal lock up there is and not some country club camp.

I don't envy him, but he seems to have gotten off easy. Many more have spent much for time for stealing much less.

I didn’t have time to read this thread, busy waiting on my 991.2 GT2 delivery at Champion. Seems kinda late for 2019 delivery but I bet it will be here any day now...

No the people that got off easy are all the other folks like Champion owners, other employees of Champion, Porsche folks and the many others that knew what was going on that won’t spend a sleepless minute over this travesty. This scheme didn’t happen all in one guys mind and actions, no way, no how.

+1, Exactly - this is the Porsche Germany mantra "don't get caught, but burn the customers however you wish"

Porsche dealers are The Wild West, screw any customer, in any way you can and then lie to them and tell them "we're building relationships".
Love the cars, hate the lies the dealers spew to make short term profits.

Champion is not a singular event, this behaviour is pervasive across several US Porsche dealers and Porsche Germany is well aware but sticks its head in the sand. Tragic degradation of the brand

Yeah, I hear you, but do you really think he did this and nobody even noticed?
Have you been to a dealership and seen the Financial department control the sale of a car with a VIN?
The duplication and obfuscation of these transactions which had completely evaded the accounting dept, financials AND the sales dept ...that is a tough very argument to make.

I'm just not convinced that everything went unseen

Seems like Shiraaz is in the Broward County jail waiting for the Federal Marshalls to take him to a federal lock up.

where are the facts to back up your claims? It may be true but to suggest several dealers in the US are conducting major fraud seems to be a bit of a stretch. I like a interesting story as much as anyone but also like it to be factual.

Easy to make this statement as no one has gone to trial for it and this would have been the best chance for the swamp to be emptied so you won't have ACTUAL facts. This type of fraud doesn't happen on the shoulders of just one guy. I can promise with some very good common sense that others knew what was going on. Many however can deduce that the likes of plenty of "brokers" that were selling allocations on here and to the public mostly dried up when this story broke. I can tell you that there are plenty of dealers and since I only have information from people that have been offered these deals there are plenty of dealers doing shady stuff with 918 owner allocations. Crazy **** so they will not get caught and lose there VIP status.
