I definitely know nothing officially because I neither drink nor golf. I also have never seen the future products roaming around. I have also never been to weissach or met any cleaning ladies or Genius Janitors.

I do however only care about 3 things for future GT cars:

1) how they corner
2) how they sound
3) how they make sounds going around corners

Im enjoying the turbo in my GTS...Porsche did a fantastic job with the power delivery. I honestly do not care if the next or whatever GT3 is Turbo,or not. Only thing I’d add to CJ’s list is.....That it’s Reliable.

Quick question:
Do you also receive a survey from Porsche Marketing when you buy a GT car?

For GT4 and GT3, I got 2 online surveys and actually Porsche is asking about what is preferred from GT cars.

Everyone’s been screaming and yelling (myself included) about putting a turbo in the next GT3. If they can simply make it sound good, the lines will be out the door.

Hell they’ll probably be out the door no matter what Porsche does.

The only reason I see the GT3 going turbo is to get more HP out of the car, as I think they are maxed out on the 4.0 motor. The GT3 production is to little for them to move to a turbo because of emissions and if they do, its not a bad thing.

I have driven the 570s, 488 and turbo S, to be honest the turbo's are so good today you can't even notice the turbo lag, its just they all have different ways of delivering power.

The 991.2 turbos in Sport plus have the antilag feature that makes a very big and positive difference. Off throttle at 4K RPMs it would sustain about 9psi of boost, and I’m at high altitude so most should see better performance. On the street it was nearly imperceptible but on the track I could clearly feel a brief buildup of torque. It was quick and easy to predict, and the car carries full boost between shifts.

The sound of the 991.2 turbo is better than the 991.1 so they are starting to get that but it’s nothing close to the sound of the NA motors - that would be the part I’d be afraid of a big miss on.

I think if reliability and track durability can be assumed, good antilag features and auditory engineering are all that’s needed for turbocharged GT cars to receive glowing approvals.

If I can get 700hp turbo RWD 6MT no wing go ahead and slap GT3 on the back I don’t care. 550hp, I am not moved.

The vehicle already exists, it’s called the Ruf RTR and it has 802hp. I just can’t afford one (or maybe even get it in the US). Pulling the wing off would be easy.

I’m probably in the minority here when I say the GT3 doesn’t need any more power. I’ll take 500 hp + sound over 700 hp + quiet all day long.

This thing can get you in a ton of trouble as it is.

1) How it corners. Exactly.
2) How it sounds from the driver’s seat? Real sound only, no hifi exhaust, no sound symposer.
3) The noises and feedback going around corners, but also power delivery. No returning to the 80’s Big Bang Boost.
4) How it looks, no faceless Tesla Model 3, it has to look the part.
5) If it’s electric it better be a hybrid with a really nasty sounding ICE and I better be able to shutoff any electric only mode.

In the mountains at altitude, pulling out of corners.. you want more power. But otherwise, agreed, this engine is perfect for the road. (Gratuitous self-promoting video link to follow)
