I support the opinions here to go with a contrasting color for thread
especially since a keeper.
be sure to tic the steering column box for leather as thats a pleasure to view for you with stiching work

I found some great shots online of yellow stitching - but still would LOVE to see Cream Cognac or Luxor Beige....I feel those colors may work with the green exterior of the car - of course the risk there is introduction another color (green car, black trip, dark grey wheels and headlight surrounds, yellow brakes, black leather interior) - might be more cohesive to select one of those colors

I also think the black stitching is fitting for the touring as nothing else is so nice; have you considered lizard?
I have acid green stitching on my Irish green car and I like it.....but that is me, most people think my interior is
an eye sore.
