Broken strut tower mount
how much did it end up costing? And how did you keep it off of Carfax?

Carfax is voluntary, you can make it a condition on the repair shop you choose to use.

Not sure if relevant or not but on the pictures both cars had the top mounts with the shock shaft center hole in the inward position and with full inside camber adjustment on the slotted holes

On the cup cars they are like that ( but not a problem since the welded cage reinforcements ) and on some track adjusted GT3 RS usually many were suggesting to invert the top mounts ( as standard they are on the outer position because of the wider fenders ) but later I hear about many porsche specialist not

inverting them anymore and recommending to just use shims on lower arms

Could it be possible that keeping the shock shaft center holes more outward makes less force on the eventually weaker point of the strut ?

Would be cool if someone can find more pictures to compare and commend about that

Also there was in Germany some tuner that made a strut brace for the 991 , probably useless for rigidity but would it be better to distribute forces or would it make it worst ?

Interesting, recently done an alignment my guy moved my top mount in the inward position to add more camber. Would this be an issue? Do I need to move it back

I do not think that it s an issue and I also just switched the top mounts left to right to get more camber and I think that also Manthey is doing this

If you are just slightly moved the top mount inwards with the slotted holes then it s not even a question and it s fine for sure

I was just wondering if somehow switching the top mounts and changing where the center of the suspension shaft and spring is compared to the strut could make any difference ( but probably not )

I would also like to know if in theory a strut brace would make things better or worst ( I think that with aluminium cast there is not much flex in the material most of the time but not sure if a strut brace would make things better by sharing the forces between the two struts or worst by making the material

support forces in a direction that is not supposed to

I wonder if they were running semi-slicks or slicks. I'd imagine that puts way more pressure on strut towers.
