Default Center Lock Lock Nut C-Clip?

Has anyone had the beveled section of the Centerlock CL lock nut pop out (indicated below in purple)? It's held with a c-clip in the CL nut, and I was able to get it back in pretty easily. I assume this is no big deal at all, but just want to check?

I have one that does this regularly and I just pop it back together. Have to be careful to be sure the ring clip is fully seated and everything is kept free of dirt/grit. I only have about 3k track miles so replacement isn't due for awhile. I am thinking of buying one new one and keeping the old one as a spare. Only reason is it is really messy getting the pieces back together. Especially when it happens at the track while swapping wheels.

It’s not a problem in fact you need to disassemble and clean your nuts every so often, to separate them just wack the nut againt a board face down and it will come apart.

I disassemble and clean my lock nuts once a year.
