I've had to explain the "steel marbles rolling around in the coffee can" to a few passengers new to P-cars..

OP if you are really concerned, I would swing by your dealer just to be 100% sure as there might be a difference between what is normal rattling and mechanical noises versus something more symptomatic of a real issue

That being said if you are new to the GT3 (like I am as well), then I'd say the rattling and noises are unique to the GT3 coming from another sports car or 911 and to expect them Personally I love the cacophony of noises, adds to an already amazing driving experience

the R8 has spoiled you, most likely all this is normal
FYI Nissan GTR makes a lot of loud noises so scratch that off the list

GT3's are not necessarily girlfriend or wife cars

+1 It's about your peace of mind, just get it checked out by your dealer. If you're worried something is wrong, you won't be able to enjoy the car as intended.

Lots of you took my post as a criticism, for whatever reason. I’ve never had the opportunity to own a Porsche until now, pardon the ignorance.

Thanks for the feedback from those that were genuine. Sounds like it’s par for the course, which is lovely!

Come on guys. . For everyone who is telling him go buy a Tesla, Lexus , Turbo S. He is just asking if this is normal for the GT3. He does not want another car, he just wants to hear from us if what he is hearing is normal for a GT3. Ignore a few of these comments and enjoy your GT3 and if you have something that concerns you take it in and ask.

Just revisiting this for a moment out of curiosity.

That "marbles rattling around in a can" stuff that goes on when shifting gears before the car warms up. I get that it's normal. It's a GT3 thing. But does anyone ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT IT IS??

That’s the Porsche Dynamic Marble Kann (PDMK). Very complex and crucial to the 9k redline.

Mine is a PDK and made all those "symphonic" noises.......there was a BIG difference between when I picked it up with less than 10 miles and now at about 400........much quieter, but still has those raw sounds you describe, just lower in decibels.........
