This is a strange turn of events. I’ll have to discuss with dealer tomorrow if this is a USA issue too. Bummer, I was hoping for September ED...if true I guess my build just got $18k cheaper

who (with an already confirmend order) got also "pushed back"?
I checked with my dealer this am, my 991.2 GT3RS w/ WP (USA bound) went from an 8/1 start build to 8/3 and delivery to dealer went from 10/27 to 11/3 otherwise no other changes.

I'm remember the early volume carbon days and manufacturers having extensive production issues, but i'm a little surprised Porsche is having them today. The Huracan/R8 has carbon elements in the chassis and they produce several thousand of those a year. The M3, M4, have a carbon driveshaft (i.e. higher tolerances that a hood or wing) on the order of 10,000+ year. All McLarens are essentially all carbon (tub, body, etc.) and they produce ~4,000 cars / year. Point i'm trying to make is other manufacturers seems to be producing carbon in volume with limited issue. Do any other P cars have significant carbon related elements? I think it's just the RS cars, so call it 3 to 4,000 cars per year? Curious what the issue is...

The Mag wheels I get as Porsche accounts for a material amount of global production, but the 3RS doesn't include those. What's left? Stitching and a plaque?

My dealer confirmed today that my '19 3RS with WP is still on schedule to hit an Oct make date and late Nov ETA in USA

He also made a point of confirming that Mag wheels are not available until Feb/19 and no clear path at this time for pre Feb/19 WP cars to access Mag wheels. (which is not news)

Guess the message is .........you are one of the fortunate ones to have a confirmed production slot...but if you want Mag wheels you are going to be buying 2 sets of wheels for your car...but so far we haven't figured out a clear way to get you the Mag wheels...and by the way don't complain when the post Feb/19 delivery guys pay $18000. less for a WP with Mags.......or something like that.

Preuninger did mention this when interviewed. They did not forecast so many WP requests (he says 90%), so they didn’t schedule orders for the parts. They must be figuring this out now
