Finally got an allocation
This is not some bragging thread. I finally scored a configurable allocation from a non-cali dealer to be delivered in dec. I’m currently 50/50 on either touring or standard car. Not even sure about transmission (I know touring is 6 speed only). Does anyone feel touring will be unobtainable or too ridiculously priced later versus the standard car or is it just hyperbole for now? - I recognize it’s all speculation at this point. I’m wondering if I should get touring and then switch out to the winged version if I’m undecided. Just wondering if the reverse will be unobtainable (I.e going from pdk/6 speed standard car to touring later will cause wallet rape) or if the current environment is just short term in terms of touring being overpriced versus the standard options

Congrats!! Honestly IMO I would just get what you want right now, especially since you have that option. I don't like looking too far ahead into the future as it's never a guarantee, so I just want to enjoy what I can now while I still can...

Congrats! I just ordered mine exactly how I wanted it with no concern for what would be more popular when I go to sell it. Life is too short to speculate about that, I want to enjoy my car.

Plenty of PDK cars around, get a manual, and drive the snot out of it

Yea I think this is the hard part. I’m honestly 50/50 between touring or not at this point

I thought there were no more GT3s to be had!

Get MT. Touring vs Wing is your personal choice. I think Touring vs Winged MT will be about 50/50. Touring got little delayed due to its introduction in Frankfurt but there will be a lot produced between March - Dec period.

991.2 GT3 prices will always look like this:
Touring > MT Wing'ed > PDK Wing'ed
Today it's roughly $10-$15k difference between each. Who knows what the future will hold. A touring GT3 will never have a premium like a 911R so who really cares. Worrying about the resale difference of $10-$15k on a $175k car is silly. Just get what you want and be glad you got an allocation.
Congrats!
