991.1 GT3 vs 991.1 GT3 RS
Hey guys,
Before I get railed...I've searched and read many posts on this subject...but looking for some personal experiences between the 2 and why you chose one over the other.
My ultimate question to you guys and myself is....is the RS really worth the premium for someone that's not a pro driver? I mean, you can get a pretty fun car with the extra $100K CDN price difference on the RS.
Thanks!
Mike.

I own a .1 GT3 and have ridden in a .1 GT3 RS. I personally feel the styling of the GT3 is better. Both cars are very close in performance, but the RS has the advantage on the track. But the GT3 is much less expensive, and comes with a long engine warranty. If I had to do it again I would buy the .1 GT3. I can't justify the premium myself, because the cars are so close, but I can also see why a lot of guys value the "RS" versus the standard GT3. Personal preference but I wouldn't spend the extra $60-75k for the RS. Also, the new RS is coming out. Values should soften a bit more.

Basically....personal preference.

So basically 99.9% of RS owners. For the record, I’ve never heard anyone say “I wanted an RS, I can afford an RS, I could get an RS at either MSRP or w/ ADM doesn’t matter to me but I chose a GT3.”..so for those who want an RS and can afford one, I guess the premium is worth it. For the rest of us, the value proposition is entirely subjective...only you can decide if the premium is worth it to you. The GT3RS is a better overall car than the GT3, is it $65K better, only you can answer that.

Same for me, no question RS is worth it having owned both... assuming money is not the issue, and you don't mind the extra styling flourishes.

The 997.2 RS had many advantages over the GT3. Gearing, dynamic mounts more hp etc. simple search will enlighten you.
Having owned both RS is more car.
When I buy cars I am not worried much about the initial price of entry. I focus more on what it is worth when done with it. RS clearly wins that argument no matter the miles or condition. It will cost you less to drive a RS than a GT 3 in almost every circumstance.
Back on topic. I have no experience with 991 RS or Gt3. I do plan on getting a 991 GT car. The boys that own the new 4.0 GT3 have something very special. The no Auto in the RS kills that car for me.
I would recommend driving a 16 RS vs a 4.0 GT3. For some reason very few People are talking about how much better the new 4.0 engines are. I can't wait to get one.

I've owned both, two 991 GT3's actually and i can tell you for certain that the RS gets way way way more attention at cars and coffee. If you blindfolded me i and i drove them back to back i couldn't tell the difference, especially with my limited abilities. And ill still tell you the RS is worth every penny because its now about how much you spend, its about the delta between what you buy for and what you sell for, and the RS will cost you less to own, guaranteed.

May be a redundant answer at this point. But i've owned both and the RS is worth it hands down. I didn't want to like the RS. I was fortunate enough to receive an MSRP configurable allocation. I ordered it, waited, and hoped that it wasn't much better then my GT3. I could sell it for market price. Win/win. Fast forward.... took delivery, drove it for a week....absolutely another level. In love with the RS. Kept it. Got rid of the regular GT3. Never looked back. The .2 RS will be it's successor.

Buy vs Sell delta is something that has favored the RS, historically.

I have owned both and will say RS hands down. Am I able to use the potential of either car ?? absolutely not.
but again a lot of people live in houses much larger/more expensive than what they need. Our ancestors lived in caves !!!
bottom line , buy what you can afford and both cars are very good value relative to other cars

Owned both, and there is ZERO question the RS is worth every cent over the gt3 price you pay. I actually went as far to say I disliked my 991 gt3s in comparison to my RS which I absolutely LOVE.
