991.2 SIM Card ID
#2
The sim number is located on the card, just pop it out. Once you have the account setup up on www.att.com/porsche, you can then move the move the pcm to your account.

Thanks for the reply. In the 2018 991.2 there is no external SIM card, it's entirely embedded (e.g. no card in the slot on the PCM). So I'm trying to figure out how to get the ID from the embedded SIM card.
cheers!

Cross-Posting from 991 forum as GT3 folks might find this useful...
Alright folks - straight from the horses mouth (PCNA):
John suggested I call 1-800-PORSCHE, Option 3, Option 2 and talk to them with my VIN as they have the most current information. So I did, here's what I learned.
(1) Starting in 2018 Porsche Connect Services do not require a separate data connection, unless you want a mobile hotspot. All data required for PCM functions (Google Earth, Nav, Traffic, News, etc) is INCLUDED with the package. 1st year is free, then you pay.
(2) If you want a mobile hotspot, you can link your phone, or you can purchase and use an external SIM card.
This is a completely different setup than 2016/2017 cars according to the gentleman I spoke with, and they are in the process of updating all documentation on My Porsche to reflect this change.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for clarifying. On my 2017 .2, the AT&T mobile data plan is separate from the Porsche Connect services ($20/month for 3GB of data plus $200-something/year for the Connect services after the first free year). Hopefully we get the details soon.
