The R8 has no match to the drive of the GT3. A true performance car should be light yet solid, which Porsche is the best at. The R8 feels very solid but not light, and everything is much softer than the GT3 which doesn't have that driver's car feel in my opinion. But if you just wanna cruise and drive around the city its a great car!

The problem is no one knows with certainty what type of engine it will have ect ect- and we are probably a year and a half away. In the interim, go buy a used R8 V10 with a Manual. They are probably at a low point on the deprecation factor or look for a left over 2017 R8 you can get probably get $30,000 off.

If you aren't going to track it often, obviously yes, plenty of cars that are better on the road than the 991 gt3 or gt3 rs.

Not a very flattering review of RWS. Basically if you want an R8 buy a Plus

Thanks for all the input. I just saw the R8 RWS reviews in AUTOCAR and EVO magazine that came out today, They basically said it’s a great car but ... same price as a gt3. They would choose a GT3 over an R8 any day. One mag said every drive on the GT3 is an event. I Should have bought a GT3 when I was given a chance back in mid 2017. Like they say “ You snooze you loose”.

Sounds like a feeble attempt to beef up sales. They can keep the plaque and the car. Will depreciate steeply like the others.

What a shame. They had the chance to bring back the gated shifter and drop more like 300 lbs not just 100 lbs. Could of gotten more feedback out of the steering feel ect.
