Default Is it difficult to get to the engine?

Hey guys,

I saw some dumb video recently where the guy opened up the trunk and commented about how there's nothing to see there because of all the shrouding and what not. Then he went on to talk about other things.

How hard is it to pop off the engine cover and see the actual engine in there? Do you have to remove any fasteners or anything or does it pop right off fairly easily?

Like... am I ever gonna see the engine in this thing? I never saw the engine in my Boxster for the 3 years I owned it.

You will just see the top of the engine. Not much really at all. Pretty easy to remove that part. If you want to see more of the engine, pull bumper and put the car in the air...

So what's involved in removing the shroud? Do you just tug on it? Easily broken plastic fasteners? A few screws that look like torx screws but don't actually fit any tool you can find in your garage?

I envision a bunch of taken off parts on the garage floor and an emergency call for a Porsche technician house call

Plenty of pics of the engine on the Internet

You don't see much of the engine unless it's dropped out from the bottom. I say leave well enough alone here.

Go back to the air cooled days and just drop the engine.
