Both are great toys.
They are different strokes for different folks even though price point and performance figures are in ball park.

A real deal breaker would be if Porsche built a 960 to compete with the 488.

I would gladly trade my incoming GT2 RS WP straight up for a Pista.

I would love to see a comparison video of the Ferrari Pista vs Porsche GT2RS vs Lamborghini Performante vs McLaren 720s

This is a great time to be a car fan!!!! So many choices.

right. they could cash in 100k mark up on second hand. and give you the pista within Q4.18 / Q1.19

i would do the deal. if i would have a GT2RS (and some other Porsches. or especially any GT3RS on the side)

i will not use the 488 on track the porsche yes a lot (on the ring) also because a lot of motorsport garage know how to adjust perfectly the car vs the ferrari
you're getting BOTH?

damn, super awesome! congrats

Some dealers have room some don't - Ferrari has programs to get new people in too. I am in an open territory which means access to every F dealer.

Two dealers 300 miles away "free" pick up and delivery on F cars outside warranty.

Bottom line there will be volumes of lightly used 488's at 50+ off msrp - they may not charge ADM but there is a buy in that is far greater than the RS.
I bought 2, and ordered 2 within the past year at a relatively "small" dealer and wasn't able to get the Pista. I'm first on a secondary list and I'm hoping they can squeeze out one more allocation for me...

I agree with what you're saying about the 488 though. No markup new, huge markup used (for 1/2 years), and then a huge drop off. That's Ferraris pattern. If you aren't lucky enough to squeeze out an allocation you're paying ridiculous premiums. Hell, look at the TDF prices, they are selling for $1,000,000+ now compared to a $500,000 MSRP?

I have no skin in this game either way but the 2RS looks are overkill for me, and I absolutely love the Pista styling (think they did a much better job than 458S IMO)

Both are impressive machines that are unobtainable for us mortals but for my intended use of driving around town, weekend drives, canyons, etc I would go Pista

Sole track machine, would go 2RS - can't beat Porsche here

I do not disagree with you. But- these cars attract way to much attention for my skin. The GT3 is as about as much attention as I want. To each their own.

Totally, GT3 is the sweet spot for *me* and almost too much attention with the wing, but I love the design and went for a "conservative" spec which I am very very happy with

I could make an exception for the Pista (or a 458), only two modern Ferraris that I really like
