I signed up for one 4 months ago and I agreed to pay US$200k mark up.
At the moment I thought the GT2RS was limited edition. I was about to cancel my slot but now I'm sure I can have 6 months of fun and at least get back my money back.
My SA called me last week to try to sell me a 911 Special Edition for $200K above MSRP, now that's insane!

You are talking about the Turbo S Exclusive Series or something else?

If not, what do you guess would be the resale price?

I heard there was be less than 500 cars so this thing could go over $1m.

Only limited by production constraints. My guess is closer to 2k worldwide. 1k Europe, 1k ROW. USA probably gets 400+. None for China, so it could be more. Again, totally guessing based on what a friend at a large dealer was allocated on various GT models.

.1 GT3 > 30
.1 GT3 RS > 20
.2 GT3 = > 20 (to date)
.2 GT3 RS = 10 (to date) - I would expect another 10+ through 2019.
GT2 RS = ~ 8 (to date)

No idea on where the 2RS price will be in the future.

In 2012/13 the GT2RS dropped below MSRP by about 20% before the economy recovered.
Those are limited to 500. And are now selling for $200K over.

I can’t imagine the new one ever staying there due to bigger numbers, every car being TT and where we are in the economical cycle.

Many will be in collections - that will help values to a small extent.

This version is scarily fast, so not that attractive as a regular track car. And hardly a road car. Quite a super niche therefore.

I don’t see this holding a high premium over MSRP for an extended period of time. What does everyone think about the exhaust note and the fact it’s just a hopped up Turbo S motor with only a PDK tranny? It’s really not that special IMHO, but I may be ignorant of all the magical unicorn parts it has??

All that said, I would buy one at sticker, but not over.

Unless someone really wants it, the watch will lose at least 50% almost immediately. The asking price is absurd. And I didn't see Patek or Lange on the dial either.

*Disclaimer: I have never driven or sat in a 2RS. And all I will guess is that you need to see/hear the car *in person* to feel the car (and its presence). I know this because I was fortunate enough to see 6-7 of them recently on the track, driving on the street, and parked stationary

IMO do that and you'll understand how special of a car the 2RS is. You will immediately feel/sense that it's no ordinary car and Porsche probably threw everything at the car including the kitchen sink to make it as close to the pinnacle of cars on the market today as possible... Can only imagine it gets only even better when you are a passenger or driver in the car

It's *the* widowmaker... and this version set the Ring production car record.. Legend
