Only difference is that you can easily buy Sofas and swap out the lwb seats.

Is it confirmed that 2018 is actual end of production?

I heard that the factory will still make production next year but label as a “2018” for emissions reasons.

They actually can’t do that. To sell a 2018 it has to be built in 2018.

But then the seats the car is fitted with aren't on the spec sheet.

PDK, PDK + PTS, Touring, or PTS + Touring = movement away from track toy.

To be fair:
1. Not a ton of these cars have showed up yet to track etc.
2. Porsches are as beautiful as they are performers so interest in aesthetics and performance are normal
3. With the almost total flexibility (minus pts these days) in how Porsche allows one to spec a build only adds to the fun and discussion

The discussion will likely move more performance oriented as cars arrive and mature. Relax - you 996 track guys are not cooler than everyone else.

Just got my GT3 Touring and went with the standard 4 way's. Much more comfortable for me than even the 18 way. Don't know why but they are. And spent a few minutes setting them to my spec's
and that's it. My wife Cayenne has 18 way and set them once and that was all. Maybe a lot of people keep changing the setting but once I have it set that is it. Seems anytime I try to change the setting I end up back to the spot that I set from the beginning.

You forgot a few: pins vs welding; bore vs stroke 4.0; cup shifter cables or not; cayenne brake rotors or OE.

996 were the days...
