991.1 GT3 - 1:59's consistently and I dipped into the 1:58's a few times.

991.2 GT3 - 1:57's consistently on a clear lap with no traffic and I dipped into the 1:56's a couple times. See below. This is using Harry's lap timer. I had the good one in my race car, which is in the shop. However, I have compared Harry's lap timer to an actual transponder at time trials and it was within .001 of a second. Pretty darn accurate for a $20 app.

Both cars were 100% stock other than safety stuff except the 991.1 had a SW center bypass.

Thanks everyone else too! I am really happy with the spec of the car. It's one of the few I've 100% specced myself. Usually I'm too impulsive and just buy what's available.

Worth repeating that the laptimes with the .2 were done on a very slippery track which was just resurfaced (no rubber yet) and a manual gearbox. I think the track will become about 2 sec quicker...

I really hope over time it's much more grippy. 1:54's would be nice on a car that you can drive to the track!

I've been struggling whether to get a PDK or manual... You've driven both. Is the manual as much of a "no-brainer" as your review would seem to indicate?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/input you may be able to provide on this PDK vs manual decision!

[QUOTE=Engeljizzle;14768602]Let me start off by saying THANK YOU to GMG for consistently delivering awesome products. Dom Bautista has helped me every time (I'm on my 4th GT3 with GMG products) and has always ensured a smooth transaction. On my 2018, I wanted to make my car as similar to a stock European GT3 with the clubsport package as I could and I went with the LMS bar because it resembled the factory clubsport roll bar. I also did a Schroth 6 pt for the driver and the Schroth 4pt for the passenger. I did the 4pt because I didn't want to cut into the seats. The 6pt was mounted to a GMG sub-strap mounting plate.

So, to the car! I took "delivery" October 2017 in Germany, and unfortunately due to issues with tourist registration and the German government, I was unable to take the car. However, Porsche was kind enough to give me a C2S loaner car and had no issues with me taking it to the track. See below for pictures of my car the day I took delivery and pictures of the loaner on Spa and the Nurburgring. I had fun to say the least!

YOU ARE VERY WELCOME. And yes, Dom does a great job and I am happy you agree. Good luck with the new GT3, it's obvious you are the perfect buyer for this car with all your intended track use! :-)

Thanks, this is really good info! Can’t wait for DE/track season to kick off here in the northeast to see these bad boys on the track!

I’d love to tell you that it’s a no brainer but we only have our own opinions.

In MY OPINION, I think it is a more fun car to drive. I get more overall enjoyment out of the car at both the track and on the street. For the way I use the car, which is on the track and on back roads / canyons, the manual is more involving and gives the car a better driving experience. The pdk GT3 is VERY good, however, because it is so good, you need to push it harder to get more enjoyment from it, especially on the street. I don’t like this and that’s what makes the manual that much better. I can drive 5/10 on the street to get the same experience and smile on my face that I would have to drive 8/10 with a pdk.

On the flip side, I understand why people would prefer a pdk over the Manual. Perhaps you drive the car daily, or much more often than a weekend warrior. Maybe you don’t want to think about shifting when you’re on a race track. Without coming across as pretentious, I have been to the track over 100 times, so I am not worried about shifting interfering with driving quickly and safely.

Either way you go, you’ll be happy. However, I have been happier with a manual. Hope this helps!

Is that a factory Euro-spec bar or GMG? If GMG, is it an exact replica of the factory bar? In design and mounting.

If it was an exact replica it would have the holes for the front cage too.

Here's the Clubsport rollcage:
