Yes but it would be bad business to exclaim that you want the next GT3 to be NA (and that this makes for a better car), if it was unlikely to happen. You always want to say the version you intend to sell is "Best"...

- No one knows what is going to happen and they are trying to stir the pot with the powers to be outside of Porsche (unlikely)
- No one knows what is going to happen, so make these comments as a hedge to minimize the blowback to Porsche. I.e. If they are able to keep as N/A...Look how awesome we are. We are the only one to offer this amazing product. If they are unable to continue with N/A...Look we really really wanted to keep it N/A. In fact, we did everything we could and were actually the last company to offer an N/A manual sports car. But it was out of our control so don't be mad at us, be mad at the system. (possible)

I interpreted that article as a positive for us NA fans. I would hope the amount of cash being sunk into EV's would give them some wiggle room to continue to make NA cars in low volumes. Especially since the hybrid business seems to be booming, if reports of shortages are true. fingers crossed.

Wasn't the beginning issue of the continuation of NA engines the new pollution requirements in Europe. Have they been dealt with with new technology or are we still wishful thinking.

From our dealings with Dr. Walliser in Atlanta, he seemed like someone who spoke his mind without spin. He was pretty frank (no pun intended). So i personally don’t think his comments were corporate speak or spin in any way.

So if the GT3 goes turbo - might that not be fun ? We're getting a GT2. essentially.
So will there still be a GT3 and GT2?, or will they be like the 911 Turbo...

So I'm a bit suspicious of the specific detail provided in the article. It states 410kw and 8 speed PDK. These seem too definitive to just be made up.
On the other hand, converting to HP we get 410kw = 557hp (metric). This would be a significant jump in HP for the GT3 if it featured in the 992.1 GT3 (57hp or more than 11%). Given the incremental nature of HP increases at Porsche, this doesn't seem right.
To me this suggests that the turbo motor will be either in the 992.2 GT3 (most likely) or potentially the 992.1 GT3 RS (less likely option IMO).

The thought that crosses my mind is that these cars are just getting too fast. Exuberant driving will soon put you at 2-3x road speed limits, and do we really want to be going that fast on track without full race car safety systems? 991.1 GT3 is already stretching those limits for me. At a certain point, I think we go past the optimum balance, and further adding performance capability may detract from enjoyment rather than enhancing it. I like flogging cars without discovering that the resulting speed is insane. Of course, if the goal is bragging rights and winning magazine lap time contests, I guess there will always be a push to make these cars ever faster.
