Default Cup 2's in 10 degree weather

GT3 arrived at dealership Friday. Wrap goes on first of next week.
Dealership is 60 miles from home. Weather for mid to end of next week is a high of 12 and low of 2.
Was told I should not drive Cup 2's in those temps, possible cracking concern???
Drive or trailer it?

What you were told is correct. You need to trailer the car, any movement at those temps (anything under 20) and you run the risk of the tires cracking.

Agreed. Trailer or wait until weather warms up to at least above freezing and 40 degrees would be better. Even if the tires did not crack their rubber compound gets so hard at that temperature that their lack of traction could be dangerous.

Michelin says not to expose them to temps of 14F (-10C) or below - can do permanent damage...

Drove last year at temperatures below 10 degrees celcius for about a week and no cracking spotted. Traction is a different topic though.

Your tires will not crack at 12 F. You can drive it no problem just be careful because they will slide

I've driven my new GT3 at around 5 degrees celcius and less this winter with no issues if you take it easy..Grant said not to expose the tyres to less than 14* F which is equivalent to minus 10*C not +10*C..I would never ever take my GT3 out at -10*C irrespective of cracking just for self preservation reasons.

I would never do it - tire issue aside, let's say you get in an accident due to traction loss (pretty safe assumption you will hit ice at least once on 60 miles in those temps) would your insurance even cover you or would they fight it under negligence? I had a friend who dailys a TTS pick up his car from his dealer last winter, it was there for service and winter tire swap. The dealer forgot and he hit some ice on a corner, took out 6 mailboxes and $30k in repairs to his car. This was on PZeros not MPSC2s. I hear several stories a year of idiots on summer tires in below zero temps.

You're trying to save $200 and taking huge risk. I wouldn't do it and I don't bother with track insurance - liability risk is the big issue, especially when a Porsche makes you a big Target.

Cup2 are way better than Cup1.

I have and had never issues with driving them around at 0 or -5 degree Celsius. 20 till 30F.
it skids perfectly and so the tires are keeping also a bit better the garage-temperatur

but this cause a bit of sorrow!?
source?
i think they mean NOT to store them on or off the car over weeks at -10C or lower. a short drive does not matter.

I only have 950 break in miles and did a nice early morning drive of 100 miles when it was 6 degrees. Tires are fine, doesn't matter what tires you have on, traction is compromised at those temps so just drive cautiously and don't be in a hurry. My tires are fine and no cracking and yesterday at 61 degree temps tires felt new and sticky as expected once up to temperature.
