All I know is that my new M4 GT4 race car has AC and air con seats!! Soooooo...AC delete is absurd if you ask me.

Once you dress properly for track work - multiple nomex layers, balaclava, helmet, gloves - you quickly learn that car AC is a distant second to a Coolshirt, which is a distant second to Koolbox AC helmet system. Now if you track in t-shirt and shorts then sure car AC is great, but on the flip side you're just a Darwin-award in waiting.

My next RS will be AC delete because 1) I've only turned it on once in each of my last two RS's, 2) it's going to be a weight reduction project, and 3) I don't give a hoot about resale. Different horses for different courses....

Assuming you're so hardcore, how do you deal with defogging/misting in the car without ac?

Remember to post pics of your AC delete RS.. I hear you say it but...

I'm soft, I admit it....I get cold and hot easy. I need A/C to cool down and to defrost the front windows when it's cold and damp.

same way i dealt with it in my '69 Triumph GT6, '71 991T, '72 2002 Tii, '65 & '68 Mustangs and a bunch of other cars I owned that didn't have AC... only difference is I drove all those year-round rain, snow, or shine. RS I can choose when and where to drive. then again, I drove 997 RS to and from multiple track events in pouring rain with AC turned off so go figure. maybe it's different in Fogtown, USA but like I said different horses for different courses.

P.S. good timing on the Boxster Spyder sell.

Colorado/mountains as well. Hardly ever use my AC, normally only on way home from track. Never turned it on in two weeks in Europe during ED in July. I think the car would be perfect for this environment - wouldn't likely track it, mostly windows down mountain runs.

This car would look great in CO. But it looks great just about anywhere.

Let me know if you want her.

It's funny reading the PFF forum in German where guys talk about the exact same thing;

e.g. R is grossly overpriced and values are on the way down to the low-mid 200's....

One thing I notice though is that they rib each other a lot more and there's a lot less whining about it.

that's because our society in the US has gotten soft - too worried about hurting somebody's feelings - the germans tell it like it is!
