I tested my 918 wheel from a Macan on my '18 Touring tonight, though it works in the 991.2 cars it would NOT work in the GT3. It is possible that if you had a PIWIS III that you could enable the option but I do not have access so I could not test it.
I have gone with the GT 991.2 steering wheel (black with silver switches) , but since I am running a "black on black" theme for my car, I have also bought black switches from eBay and replaced the switches so I have a full black on black. Its killer.

are the black switches easy to install or does it require taking off the wheel?
I've got a working 991.2 MF in my 991.1 GT3. You need to buy an adapter from gpsadapter.us it is not cheap but does the job. PIWIS coding is also required but the gpsadapter site has the instructions so its a 5 min job.
It was perfect in my 991.1 GTS, however in the GT3 the only thing that doesn't work is the button to give you 20 seconds in sports plus (because GT3 doesn't have that option). You only need a new clock spring if you are adding a heated wheel to a car without this option.

Just to confirm, you can use volume **** and switch between screens and stuff using the multifunction steering wheel? Is it heated? Any photos?

Yes it all works. This is not a heated wheel, however I do believe that a heated wheel can be installed but will require a different adapter and a clock spring although I haven't tried this myself.
