Stock vs Bose vs Burmester system weight and power comparison!
.2 models may be slightly different. You are looking at a increases of 5-6lbs over the stock system, if you guys chose the Bose. I hope everyone stops fretting about the weight difference now.

Wow. Thanks for posting this information. Modest weight gain.

Take a good healthy **** and even out the weight difference

Yea... The price difference between systems is more significant the weight difference. Standard $0, Bose $1600, Burmester almost $5800 (I think). No need for anything beyond Bose.

This is great info to have. Thanks for posting. Going solely by per speaker weight is likely a good approximation of the weight difference, but who knows what other components (cabling, trim rings around the speakers, etc) make a difference as well. Again, not doubting that in the end the additional weight will be close to the 5.2-6.6 lbs indicated, just saying that the true difference will only be known by Porsche telling us, or someone taking otherwise identical cars and putting them on a scale. It would be great if Porsche would simply share this info with us. Similar questions keep coming up about seats, stock vs LED headlights, front axle lift and believe it or not stock vs full leather. Other than maybe the PCCBs and the full buckets versus sofas, everything else can be ignored. When working on my spec I thought about keeping weight as low as possible but then right away said I need a roll cage. Oh well, just go to the gym...

I expect the heavy part of each system are the amplifiers, not the speakers...

Basically, don’t let weight be a reason you don’t get the Bose system. It should be cost or because you don’t care about sound.

My GT3 has the base unit. Sounded pretty good to me. I’d be more worried about upgrading the unit in my Panamera. Never understood the need to upgrade a radio in a sports car. But, it’s nice that it’s an option.

I’ve been into car audio for 20 years. The amps they put in these cars, including the Burmeister, are small and dinky. They hardly have substantial weight. The Bose amp is slightly smaller than an Alpine MRV-V500 and has thinner metal. The Alpine 5 channel weighs 5lbs, so the Bose is a little less. At most the stock amp probably weighs 4lbs, the Bose 5lbs and Burmeister 6lbs. Going from the stock system to the Bose will be a 7lb difference total.
