GT2 RS vs Performante

I'm not entirely sure that's the case now tbh. The 2rs is recording a lot higher g in braking and slow speed corners than the older tyre on the 991rs per SportAuto data. More than what equivalent cars tested on trofeos have done as well. The 2rs imo has a very sticky tyre now.

I’m certainly no Lambo lover - never owned one and never even had the urge to. But, that Performante looks to be fantastic. Of course, the sound is great but it also looks like it handles like a stripped out mid engined exotic should. Nice styling, searing n/a engine. Seriously, who cares what the laptime is? Would you really take the Porsche? The ‘magical’ Nürburgring laptime does seem to translate if you ask me. Heavier weight, less power than either the 488 or 675 and much quicker than both. To cry foul because it loses out on a particular track to an RS with about 100 more horses and a few less kilos seems like stretching the point to me. Honour intact in my book.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Performante and I might pick one up next year when they start trading at below MSRP. But Lamborghini is notorious for doing the N-Ring lap time with a ringer car and "special" tires. Started with the Aventador SV and the so claimed 6.59 min lap time. When magazines started to test the SV, it came nowhere near the 918, or the even less powerful 675LT's lap time. Then the Huracan Performante with the 6.52 min record lap time. If the ALA aerodynamic was that magical, then how come the Performante is a massive 1.7s off the mark on a 60 second race track?

i know this is obviously porsche website and i dont want to come off as a troll....................but........................its hard to believe you actually have to spend more for 2rs than hp! maybe if hp was $350k and 2rs was $200k i could make a case that porsche is a better value but i cannot find one thing in 2rs favor. 720s or hp is the comparison to make. btw, i am very curious how zr1 lap times willvcompare to 2rs

Observations on video
huracan can launch harder than he does in video.
Sounds like he miss shifts also into 2nd on launch
he paddle shifts lambo around track and doesn’t do the same in gt2rs. Do you have to shift in lambo yourself? I know the auto setting would be faster

The Lambo sounds awesome and is a rolling piece of sculpture. I like Lambos and Porsches. Both have their pros/cons. (I’m a former lambo owner - no regrets - it was fun while it lasted).
Anyone notice that the driver’s knees in the lambo look to be half way up the steering column, and above the level of the center console? How tall is that guy? Looks like he barely fits.
Also - is he letting the PDK shift on its own in the GT2RS?. I don’t see him reaching for the paddles. Looks like it’s in an automatic mode. I assume the Lambo is being driven in Corsa (in which case the driver MUST shift up and can either shift down or let the car automatically shift down)

I got to spend about half a day with someone's Peformante at my local track.
And if the GT2 RS is faster than that thing? Holy mother of hell, then whatever ADM dealers are asking for the GT2 RS is probably underpriced.

I would be shocked to see the Performante selling below MSRP this early.
But - I would take a Performante over the GT2 RS if both were at sticker. i think they really nailed this car.

Thats one mighty quick car - look at the speed time plot and the difference out of Sudkurve and the peak speed difference at Zielgerade - it completely blows the Performante out of the water. Simply drives away from the Performant post apex. Also, time wise its 4s-5s quicker than the .2 GT3 - stating the obvious, thats a massive difference.
