Been a Nevada resident since 2005 and have been enjoying the private party no-sales tax purchase benefit since then. The other cool thing about Nevada is that I can buy a private party car (not pay sales tax) and then use that car to buy a new car to get a trade-in sales tax benefit (only paying sales tax, if any, on the price of the new car less the value of the trade-in). Plus no state income tax in Nevada....what a great state!

Ok CW i'll take the bait-
We took the Polar silver car in trade, customer
Wanted our chalk turbo S sunroof delete car a while back...we then sold car to RL'er / repeat customer as a stopgap while his yellow GT3RS WP was on order. When his car completed production, he brought back the car on consignment. Didn't sell at his price. When his RS landed, we officially took it in trade. Polar car was from Chicago originally/ ironically.
Have one of your buddies run it in c@P

It’s a $12k silver.

it's an amazing color as far as i'm concerned. my guess is it's too close to rhodium for people to get excited about it -- not that rhodium is bad, just that there are a bunch of 991.1 gt3s in rhodium. but yeah, someone should buy that. polar pts gt3 at sticker sounds like a win all day. some of my favorite vintage 911s are polar.
actually just under 13k. pts used to be a steal, those days are gone.

As we know, PTS hasn't been "to sample" for quite sometime. Now it's essentially a non-standard pre-approved color in their pallet. Most of them are not special at all. Used to be an A4 size sample that they would copy it. In that sense, 12k is horrible, even worse when you see the same colors on a golf.

we are picking up our true Paint To Sample RR SVR next month. We were even able to officially name the color. Tough process as it’s been over a year now but should be worth it. The PTS was $10,900 but Total Bespoke (CXX) options ended up being expensive, $30k on top of msrp.

No doubt, there are a handful of colors that are very popular and frequently chosen, but just because IG is loaded with the same 15 popular colors doesn’t mean the PTS process for new colors is dead.
As as much as all of you complain about everything PTS, demand for PTS is greater than ever - even with PAG essentially doubling the price. In fact, they could barely handle the demand.

This is not true. You still have the same ability to send in any color “sample” you wish (must be painted on a 6” card) and go through the same process as before if you’re willing to pay the feasibility test. The PTS list is updated every few months and the new colors which others have had tested/approved are added. That list grows every quarter.
