Check this out gents...One of our customers recently dumped a 4.0L GT3 engine into his GT4, and is running the car in time attack events including Gridlife. Very cool swap!

^ Wow, Jeff did your customer say how much it cost him to do that or where he came across the GT3 motor?

That is cool - do you know what he did for a gearbox (GT4 box has wrong gearing and 309 ft-lbs torque limit - but I’m sure both can be made to work)?

I have no idea on the cost, but the work was done by BGB. They did gearing and suspension on the car as well. Here is a build thread from elsewhere here on Rennlist:

According to that thread, it doesn't have a GT3 motor. It has a wet sump 9A1 GT4/Carrera S motor with increased displacement, X51 (from Carrera S) breathing mods, and other internal upgrades.

Correct. I was misinformed. That said, it's still cool, has bad@ss brakes, and thought you guys might like it.

Essex/AP Racing Black Friday 2019 Sales Event!

We'd like to share some exciting news with all of our Porsche friends. For the first time ever, Essex will be offering a substantial discount on our complete line of AP Racing Brake Kits! If you place a brake kit order with us between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you’ll receive 10% off. This offer is valid on our complete line of Competition Brake Kits, 2-piece J Hook Disc Kits, and our newly released AP Racing by Essex Road Brake Kits. While 10% may not initially sound like much compared to some of the bloated, bait-and-switch discount offers you’ll see this holiday season, it equates to over $1,000 in total savings on some of our larger front/rear applications!

We’ve fortunately never been in a position where we’ve needed to discount our brake kits, and to be quite honest, we’re still not. However, as awareness about our brake solutions has grown, we’ve been receiving more and more requests for some type of special sales event. We figured Black Friday was as good a time as any to have a go at it, so here we are. Hopefully this event makes owning one of our kits a possibility for those of you who have been patiently waiting for the right moment to take the plunge. We have no plans to make this an annual ‘thing’, nor do we anticipate offering this type of savings anytime again in the foreseeable future. In summary, get ‘em while the gettin’s good!

Additionally, we’ll be offering 10% off on all AP Racing Brake Fluids, with no limit on the purchase quantity. So be sure to grab some fresh fluid to go along with your shiny new brake kit.

Finally, our physical office location will be closed on Friday, but online orders will be available. We'd encourage you to please place your order online, and if you need any assistance we'll be sure to lend a helping hand when we're back in the office on Cyber Monday. If you have any questions beforehand, feel free to contact us at 704-824-6030 or sales@essexparts.com

Thank you very much for your continued support, and please be sure to share this info with all of your car buddies!

Thanks for all the orders gents! Our sale ends Monday, and we don't expect to offer these prices again anytime soon. Thanks again, and enjoy your holiday weekend!

They are back up on the site and active. We have a large stocking order in with Ferodo, and we expect to see a large quantity of DS3.12 in the OEM 991 GT3 shapes arriving around Christmas time. Thanks!

Thanks for all of the Black Friday orders gents, and for your patience as we whittle down the build list. We were overwhelmed with the positive response, but I think we've gotten the vast majority of the Porsche kits out the door. Thanks again!

Hello Gents,

I hope you're all doing well and staying warm! We're currently working on improving our wheel fitment database. We have people running 18", 19", and 20" wheels over our front and rear AP Racing by Essex Brake Kit. We want to document the specs on those wheels, which will save your fellow GT2/GT3 owners quite a bit of time while shopping for both brakes and wheels. We would really appreciate it if you could please list your front and rear wheel specifications below in the following format: (Brand, model, diameter, width, offset, and any required wheel spacer). Below is an example we recently collected from a 991 GT3 owner. If you have a picture of our brakes behind the wheel, please include it. That pic doesn't have to be a closeup...just a side profile pic is fine.

Front= OZ Racing Superforgiata Centerlock 19x9 +47, no spacer
Rear= OZ Racing Superforgiata Centerlock 19x12 +48, no spacer

For those of you who supply your wheel data, we will enter your name into a drawing for a free set of front Ferodo Racing brake pads (your choice of compound, approximate $500 value). That drawing will only be for GT3 owners here on this forum, so your odds of winning will be quite high.

Thanks so much for helping us, and for helping each other on this topic!
