My build spec is $197k CAD.. for US builds to start reaching this level, they have to be dealer specs.. US = $143k. CAN = $163k Both base prices and with all prices being cheaper in USD.. not sure what the heck they are adding for it to reach that high.

Burning Brakes
Special Color - $4220
Wheels - $1220
PCCB - $9210
Leather Interior - $3480
Stitching in red - $1500
LWB - $5200
Front Axle Lift - $2590
Bose Sound System - $1600
Carbon Fiber Interior - $960
Sport Chrono - $550
Extended Fuel Tank - $140
PDLS LED Lights in Black - $2900
Gas Guzzler Tax - $1050
This is already $178220
See any unreasonable options here??
I added full leather dash with red stitching - $1710
I added leather steering column with red stitching - $470
Light design package - $510
Headlight washers in exterior color - $300
These items I figure about a $2K splurge.
Otherwise, I'd bet most cars are at least $175K

I agree. Not hard to get way up there!

Seriously .. No sympathy.. you guys already get the cheapest Porsches in the world...Let me help with perspective.
Conversion: $1US / $1.30 AUS
Ave Wage: $81,400 US / $78,832 AUD ($60,640 US)
Base: $143,600 US / $327, 100 AUD
Optioned: $178,200 US / $408,612 AUD or $314,316 US
So we pay nearly double the price and relatively its 5.2 times our average income as compared to the US being 2.2 times...
My build was $434,800 and it doesnt even have a wing !!
Don't even get me started on fuel costs and running costs....
Option costs in AUD below..

$ vs brains/thinking it needs to be there
have been proven to not go hand-in-hand on RL due to different personal requirements/wishes as to which constitutes "the perfect build".
P.S.
Lets not forget the exclusivity required/expected on either side of the fence when presenting an argument for each/either side.

Stripper? My build would be White, Touring, MT, LWBs, PCCB, Lift, Bose, Auto Dimming Mirrors and one or two other bits and its at $164k. There are a lot of good builds to be had in the area between a $150k stripper and a $185k bloated barge. But because dealers are speccing so many of them, most of them out there will likely be the latter. It's a shame, but just another in a long line of shames associated with the GT3 sales process.
So your ideal build is $164K; so figure $175+ with a plate on it in Kalifornia.
Are you paying an ADM? If so, you get to pay tax on that as well.
Are you getting the car locally or do you have to ship it?
You probably want PPF on your near as dammit $200K car, right?
It's a $200K car in the secondary market.

Agreed.....I got my 2015 with the necessities for not even $10K over base....lift and a few additions here and there....perfect car....anything pushing $180+ is going to be full leather, PCCB's, color $$, etc....while it's definitely nice (and I know as I have it on my RS), it's not needed to still have a great car.....

Tell me how I can avoid paying taxes on my car (and not risk a FINRA violation) - would be very helpful.

Every build I do for one of these is btw 170-175k...it's mainly putting in all the performance options, a little leather, headlights and maybe one or two other bobbles. Not hard at ALL.

For ME, a car without LWB, LED PDLS, PCCB, and Platinum wheels isn't great. Good, but not great.
For OTHERS, a car at stripper price is great.
I just gave you some popular options earlier which easily push many cars with what I would count as bare minimums in my book and bring the cars to high $170s already.

No one can dictate what's a good or great build. It's all relevant to each individuals wants and needs.
I'd bet that if we could delete climate control, center armrest cover, door map pockets for $5000, some would do it and consider it a great build. I would consider such a hypothetical car to be one to avoid.
