As expected, usual GTS content formula applied. Same 4-pot turbo motor with a bit more power. Some (few) had speculated maybe they’d put a flat 6 in it. Nope. Saving that for the 718 GT4 and Spyder, presumably.

reminds me of the huge thread on the 991 forum a year ago, as there were all these GTS diehards talking about how special a GTS is, yada, yada, yada, and how they were sure that the 991.2 GTS would still be NA and get a 6 speed manual..........and then they were rather disappointed.
People never learn.
a GTS is not a special car. The only special cars in the modern Porsche universe are the true GT cars, GT3, GT3RS, GT4, and the hypercars CGT, 918, etc. (and maybe the Boxster spyder). These cars will continue to get screaming NA engines and many will get low geared 6 speed manual gearboxes, but the run of the mill Porsches won't.
Everything other than the GT cars/hypercars aren't that special anymore, just bland turbo powered clinical rockets for the masses, who don't understand anything about cars but HP and 0-60 times.

Seems awful soon to me. Usually the GTS version is one of the last made before a model change or upgrade. Is the 718 done soon? I know sales have been down for a while, maybe an attempt to get some interest?

I hope that it's a sign that the new GT4 is coming. How long after they released the 981 GTS did the GT4 come out?

Why not put this in the appropriate forum?

The car is actually very good- drove it for 2 days in sicily on the targa florio road. The sound issue is much rectified. More torque than a 991.1 GT3.
GT4 will be 2019 Model Year based on previous intimations.
