GT3 Touring with 4 or 18 way seat

Had 4-ways on my 991.1 GT3; agree with what others have said...amazing seats, so comfortable—it was an easy choice to order again on my upcoming 991.2. I can’t stand the 14-18 ways. Too many permutations...can never get comfortable. 4 ways are always perfect..like the buckets.

I have had 4 ways, 18 ways and LWB. The 4 ways are just as comfortable and as the 18's IMO and easier to live with than the LWB.

i just drove all 3, placed my order this morning and went with 18 ways, not a touring thought. The 4 ways are great, but like the lumbar and bolster option. I cannot feel or see any height difference in 4 way and 18 way. I am tall 6'4 no difference from top of my head in either. I am not that large (in the hips) 36 waste, so the 18 ways do add an additional support. If i was wider, I could see the 4 ways being more comfortable. The LWB are just annoying after a short run. I found them digging into my upper back hip and kept trying to move around the annoying pressure point. so 18 ways it is

I noticed in the configurator that the GT3 Touring cloth insert on the 4-way / 18-way doesn't look like pictures of the the corduroy "1973 2.7 RS style" found on the LWBs.
Two Qs:
1) What does the cloth on 18-ways actually look like on the Touring? Anyone seen it or any real world pics? I couldn't find any interior pics of the GT3 Touring and that seat.
2) And are the seatback shells on the rear of the Touring seat still the same silver/gray plastic as on the regular GT3 also? They look a bit darker to me in the configurator.
Here is a pic from the configurator of 18-way cloth:
Maybe it is the same corduroy but just looks different in the configurator.

Agree with this. The 4 ways in the GT3 fit differently than the 2 ways in the boxster.
Also, referring to Selos comment- many people, myself included, find the 4 ways more comfortable than the 18 ways, in addition to saving 20 lbs of weight and several thousand dollars.

I went with 18ways in my 6spd GT3 build... hope I'm not making a mistake (still have plenty of time to change my mind). Not going to track the car, just cruise mountains and my wife isn't a huge bucket fan in our current RS.

I went back and forth between the seat options for my upcoming Touring. I went with 4 ways. I have an RS with buckets and they are great - but I plan on using this car as a semi daily driver....so I want something thats easier to get in and out of. The 4 ways from what Ive been told are just as nice as the 18 ways - once you set it, you dont need a bunch of adjustments and it saves me some money.
4 ways for me. and no gamble either.

Does 4-way have lumbar? Bottom length extension? Bottom tilt with knee raised? I find those things important for my personal comfort on anything more than a 20 minute drive. For Touring, I would prefer a comfortable seat as I would use it like an F12——— A Gentleman’s Express.

I have mixed feelings about those seats. The inserts are not awe inspiring enough as the houndstooth, and perhaps they look a bit cheap? But that being said, old M3s with cloth interior look the best after time has passed. Are they visually striking in person?
Thanks for the photo and opinions!

The touring interior looks more dark than the base GT3 without the 'grayer' looking alcantara present. Leather appears darker, and the stitching is black. Kind of neat, but also kind of sedate. I could certainly use more contrast to break it up (just my opinion). So for me, silver stitching would really liven the touring up. Red would too, but I'm not a fan of red stitching unless you have a red car. I simply prefer more contrast to the dark interior but without bright primary colors. So it made sense to get silver stitching on the touring. However, it seems the configurator doesn't allow silver stitching on the touring!?
But wait - it is available through the configurator in different boxes, and at different price levels. To switch back to the GT3's silver stitching on touring, I believe it would be $3,500 for deviatied stitching.
+ must pay to get get 18 ways (which I don't prefer, because they push on my shoulders more than the 4 ways and are heavier), +$2,640
+ And also increases cost for other leather options if you want those in the same color stitching:
+ if you have steering column casing in leather, silver stitching now jumps slightly from $470 to $610. +$140
+ if you have seat back shells in leather, it goes to from $1870 to $2020. +$150
So something that would be free in the base GT3, costs the following in the touring:
=3500 + 2640 + 140 + 150 = $6,430 extra just for silver stitch in the touring, and it forces seats upon me that I do not prefer.that would not be forced in the regular GT3 if you wanted silver stitch.
And if I you get inserts (eg. pepita), it adds $3,555. So total seat + stitching cost price = 6430 broken down above + 1870 for seatback in leather, 3555 for inserts = $11,855 - just for houndstooth and silver stitch. This seems outlandish as it costs more than a full custom seat, and it only be $3,555 on the base GT3 to get silver stitch and these inserts - which isn't really that cheap either, but the touring builds really get reamed on price.
I hope I'm wrong - someone please let me know that I am, and how I can order these options for the same price as on the base GT3.
I also noticed you can't delete the model designation on the rear of the car on the touring. If you do, it resets you to a base GT3.
Anyone know why the touring is so different in what's available (well, it's still available but you must pay much extra for customization that is default on the regular GT3)? It surprises me because it's not considered a separate model and is just a package. Pprospective touring model owners would want to be able to order it for the same prices as a regular GT3. Result is this makes the touring slightly less alluring. Maybe they did this intentionally to detract too many people from getting the touring, as it effectively can cost more for similar spec to a base GT3. Or maybe (hopefully) I'm bad at math or don't know something about how to check the boxes on the configurator.
