If you buy a Boxster S, gamble on the 4 ways. Maybe.
Don't gamble on them in a $150,000 car.

I'm going with 18 way...like maximum adjustability especially in a car like this...

4 ways are lighter and basically the same seat. Not sure what gamble there is. Oh, and in a boxster, they are two ways.

Agree with this. The 4 ways in the GT3 fit differently than the 2 ways in the boxster.

Also, referring to Selos comment- many people, myself included, find the 4 ways more comfortable than the 18 ways, in addition to saving 20 lbs of weight and several thousand dollars.

I've had both, and I prefer the 4 ways.

Gamble? No gamble about it. 4 ways are lighter and slightly more comfortable. And lower supposedly. I've had both and would choose 4 ways all day.

That said, now that I've tasted LWBs in my Spyder, I think I'd have a hard time not selecting them in anything but a true DD. If I was buying a Touring for weekend duty, I'd be speccing LWBs myself.

+1 4-ways. like them in my 987 daily driver and in my 966tt. I rarely adjust them and they fit fine. not sure I drive hours at a time to have any problems with needing more adjustment.

+1 on the 4-ways - they were in my 991 GT3 and they were great. I had buckets in 2 other cars and frankly they are very difficult on passengers, less comfortable, and show wear more quickly. As for 18-way vs 4-way, I have not had the chance to compare. I was thinking of getting 18-ways next time, but this has me rethinking going back to the 4-ways that I already know I like!

Here's the thing- you say well I should get the better 18 ways, and then you look at the price and say ah why go half way when I'm almost paying the lwb fee. That's how I always arrive at lwb. Also I get in the gt4 and feel the chassis rotating directly under me and realize it's almost as involving as a MT.

for those tall folks, i had my dealer measure them and they said ( I hope this is true) the 4 ways and 18 ways (when the 18 ways is all the way down) are the same height. I am not getting a touring, but drove a rs with lwb and hated them, from a comfort on my @ss, but loved the angle and everything else. if i am stuck with putting non adjustable buckets, or 4 ways if they are higher, so if the 18 ways are the same height, will most likely go that direction. It would be nice to have the additional bolster for a few track days, but to not have memory could drive me crazy.
