Do we know if the steel brake pads the same on both cars ?



Will .1 Half cage bolt into .2 ?

Center exhaust delete I believe is confirmed from another thread

So list of upgrades I'm planning welcome input

1 Cantrell cage w scroth harness
2 SW center exhaust delete
3 Ferrado pads n tarret studs
4 xpel
5 tpc-racing dsc dampening control unit , had it on my turbo s not very noticeable difference is it better on GT3 ?

Anything else I should consider ?

I saw in one of interviews with AP that the brakes have been touched. I don't remember if he was referring to steel brakes but would think so.
I wander if just the pad has different shape or there's been more done to the calipers.

I have been looking into the DSC unit for my 991RS and 997GT3. For the 991 I am yet to get a positive reference (none negative either though) whereas on the older cars like the 997 the feedback is generally positive. I think Porsche tune their current cars so well, it's hard to beat with a simple software solution.

I'm doing a GMG cage, Carbon Fiber paddle shift extensions which I have both already, long tube headers installed , and I'll be xpel wrapping the whole car like my 16' , and also tint on the windows.

Im not chasing the dragon on this one. My 997 and 964 are for that.

If it has to work on road and track I would keep as-is. We do get them with half cage in Europe, so living in US that would be something I'd address. I would also love to improve the sound, but noise has become such an issue at circuits so best to leave that standard too. From what I hear the 2GT3 is significantly sharper than the gen1 cars, so you definitely wouldn't be disappointed with a standard car.

I have personally had a lot of issues with modding cars, so tend to keep it standard for road cars. If you want the extreme experience it makes sense to run a Cup car. I got myself a 996 Cup for almost a third of what I paid for my 991RS so given the current stability of values for the GT cars I think these make a lot of sense for serious track driving.

Brake pads are same with .1 and .2?

For track work maybe 19" wheels with wider 265/325 rubber could be best bang for the buck? However those might need adjustable caster pucks for the front in order to avoid rubbing and some hassle with brake fitment though...

According to giro disc the steel brake part numbers are the same on .1 and .2

And thanks for reminding me to add clear side marker and side bolsters
