Don't believe that is true at least in Canada anyway. They have received volumes for 2018. There are no guaranteed allocations as yet. They are coming soon.

I asked for a late allocation and got an email today from my SA George in NYC that he was working on it and to send my build. If that helps.

Oh, and HELP I NEED TO BUILD THIS FAST!

Riddle me this Batman, what reason would a dealer who sells at MSRP and has a waiting list as long as your arm have for spreading false speculation to 'create demand'?

This thread has grown quickly. I do have to say, though, that this thread has been one of the more sensible ones.

Here's what I know, and hopefully not add to the "fake news".

1. Dealers at this point know how many allocations they will get.
2. Although the dealers have the allocation numbers, not all the allocations have final build and delivery dates. They can guestimate the dates, but unless all their allocations already have a build V200 vode and above, it is at best a guess. Given any specific dealer's past experience, they can feel pretty confident about their guess. But, it is still a guess.
3. Other than giving the impression that all who want a GT3 will get one, Porsche has been pretty tight lipped about production numbers.

So, putting all the above together, the current allocation may indeed run until November 2018, or, the current allocation is for builds that will go until Spring 2018 and there will be another allocation that will come out November/December for Summer builds. No one really knows, even the dealers are guessing, since Porsche has been coy about the whole thing. Here's two more to speculate on: Will GT3's keep getting produced well into 2019, or will it stop November 2018? Will there be a 991.3 GT3 in 2019, rendering the 991.2 obsolete? Fun to speculate, huh?

I hope they do but not very optimistic.

The facts are that the 992 production will start in December 2018 and the Euro 6 emissions standards prevent Porsche sellling GT3 in EU after end of 2018, these things lower the possibility of GT3 production continue into 2019.

But in theory, PAG can continue to produce 991.2 GT3 alongside the 992s in 2019 and only sell them outside of EU right? Finger crossed.

Would be cool if everybody who really wants one will get one but it's definitely not looking that way. You never know if somebody backs out or bonus allocations come out so always got a chance. Stay positive and good luck.

From what I've read:

GT3 RS production starts in March 2018 through August 2018.

GT2 RS production start in November 2017 for European market. North America market production starts in May 2018.

My dealer mentioned that they have received all of their "MY18" car allocations. This being said they have no idea how many actual 19's they will receive as Porsche handed out a bunch in Canada already.

If you've not received an allocation yet, then one may be out of luck.

So what the GT cars will build in 2019 then? If nothing, then their 911 sales will plummet in 2019. I say they keep producing GT3s and GT3RSs in 2019 as they see that demand is there.
