Its like brakes squeaking. I have learned to embrace that it just conveys that you are in a race car. I have PCCBs and after about a month of washing it it starts squeaking/shrieking - that is how I know it is time for a bath

At BMW autocross yesterday and started the car up to get it out of my trailer. Big white cloud filling the trailer. Hey WTF? some exclaimed. No problem, car just elected the next pope.

Don't post much here but some thoughts. GT3 is dry sump with very low center of gravity and shallow oil collection return (unlike Subaru wet sump). Try this, let car idle down 30-60 sec before shut down. Oil runs to sump and clears bottom of cylinders. Want better, change to motul 5w-40. Mobile 1 0w-40 is water when hot. Running mobile 1 past 3-4K, it gets even thinner. My 2014 now hardly ever smokes on start. Had a buddy try this with 2015 and same results

Thank you for the reply. I'll give it a try.

My old 991 GT3 used to smoke a ton on start up. I mean a ton. My 991 GT3RS doesn't smoke a bit ever. Maybe the rings on the 3.8 on the 991 GT3 are different.

This is part of it. I also believe that it is partly due to the dry sump.

Mine is a 2015 and does it occasionally. No worries.

Sometimes at start up in the garage the amount of smoke is alarming but still has no smoke on 9/10 of the start up. If it was an issue it would show increased usage which mine doesn't

My 991 GT3 quit smoking after engine rebuild. Used to be a chain smoker before.
