Went back and watched your lap, and I offer the following. Please accept this not as criticism, but with the hope of being faster. I'm not an expert but I've run RA a ton and have had some great instructors, so I hope I can pass along their knowledge, or at least remind you of what works. Here 'goes:

- track out of T1 more if the suspension can absorb putting the left side of the car on the curbing. My MCS two-ways do a great job of this so I do it all the time.

- try not to brake going into T7, just lift a bit to set the nose and turn in.

- same thing at the kink. I've been working on lifting where the "bend" comes back to the track because I always end up scrubbing way more speed than I think when braking. I'm going thru the kink at 105 +/- a little in the M3.

^^ Yup T7 I got better later in the day, the kink I have to brake, but earlier and been powering through a bit better.

In the drivers meeting they told us the curbs have been setting off airbags.. so I'm not pounding any of them like in the race cars if I can help it. I pounded a few (Canada corner in video) and now that they told me it makes me cringe.

Should be 10-20 degree cooler tomorrow am so once the track cleans up after the hard rain this evening it should be faster and I'll clean up my line more.

As far as I can see now I lose most time entering the carousel by pussying into it when I should throw the car in, let it push wide and only slow down to bring it back in line.

Your speed in the carousel is equal to or a bit less than what I'm doing on slicks. Does the car not feel grippy enough through there or do you think you've got more speed you can carry?

As for the curbing and airbags, yeah, I think I've heard that at every DE I've been to there this year. Mike (the safety director) is a really nice guy and he and his staff do a great job. I'd be really surprised if your bags deployed on the lesser curbs there . . . now, the big ones if you accidentally blow through T12, that could be a different story.

That colder, denser air does wonders for cars with those long straights. Here's to better lap times!

Two 2:24's.

I had a low 2:24 predictive on the dash but there was some traffic and the tires were cooked by lap 8.

A little sloppy with the overheated tires, the left front looks rough and the left rear is already chunking. Will swap tires side to side and try again tomorrow morning...

In these temps a 2:23 is possible without traffic while tires are OK and cool but I don't see it happening this weekend.

Yeah, front left tire takes a beating. My RE-71Rs only get me 5-6 days there.

2:24 is pretty sweet though. Are you there thru Sunday? If I drive up it would be Sunday and would like to stop by and introduce myself.

Awesome Peter....waiting on video to load. Did you ship up extra tires for all the track days and drive home?

T1 outer curb is a rough one there; will rattle your fillings right out

I'm staying off the curbs.

Just took my first laps ever on slicks in a 997.2 CUP. Pretty awesome.

Thanks Peter for the ride-along on some "easy" laps this afternoon!!
RL'ers, we need to start a crowd funding to get this guy a GT3R!!! Or at least some new tires and brakes:-))!
Peter put down some incredible laps on tires that are worn, and brakes his pit guy said "should have been replaced before he left Fla".
He is the real deal.

LOL, you're to kind Phil.
You are the Road America guru!

I'd be happy with crowd funding me a set of pads Haha..

Nothing like a confidence builder when your mechanic says all your consumables are ****..
I'll keep your pointers in mind for my flat out lap in the AM.

Peter,
You are too modest!
I will bring Barney tomorrow just in case you need to borrow my tires for the day! Just leave me some rubber to get home:-).

SRF3 does 2:32 at June Sprints, at 2 mile tracks SRF3 about 4-5 seconds slower than GT3- so I would guess another couple seconds for a reference. 2:24 to 2:23 is probably pretty close to max for what it's worth.

I'm sure this AM the TBL was 2:23 but too much traffic.
