Got an opportunity to visit one of our vendors. Eric and Zach from the bbs motorsport side gave me a tour and educate me of the process of there products. Very cool experience first hand.

true, but the motorsport division just made a "hybrid" wheel for the road use vs the E88 which was meant strictly track use... RT88 which uses the LM barrels with the E88 centers.

Yea I found that out myself when I was there. Its very limited to what sizes due to the LM barrels. Its whatever Japan willing to send out to be made. You can see the E88 faces on the pics above waiting for Japan sending the barrels.

Yeah, wait what? What does 'LM" barrels mean? they sell the barrels in different thicknesses that can be chosen by you when you order. So maybe the 'off the shelf' version just uses a different thickness than it did prior. But it would be interesting to know which thickness they chose.

Bob has a good chart for to illustrate what I mean:

+1 for Eric @ BBS -- one of the in the biz!

To enhance mooty's post - the LM is a 2piece forged street wheel made in Japan. It is a very old design extremely strong.

Quick shot of RT-88's -- E88 centers w LM 2piece barrel.

BBS is my fav wheel maker of all time.

Whenever I see an LM diamond finished lip polished or otherwise molested, Michael Jordan sheds a tear.
